Age of consent in all but like 10 states is 16. Not sure where you got the idea it's somehow different from the rest of the world...

I can’t imagine, at any age, going on a date with a 16 year old girl and having to listen to her say “like” and “literally” about 1000 times each.

My grandmother was 14 when she got married. Had 4 kids and lived to 85. My grandfather died 30 something years earlier than she did.

16 isn't ready for that today. Unless YouTube and TikTok can guide them.

Anyone pulling one nighters that is 24+ with gals that are 17-20 is a little sketch. If you are playing the long game and being a gentleman with no sex for a while setting boundaries that is okay. Know a couple of bar owners that fack anything that walks through the door. Drugs usually involved. Happens regularly and makes me sad.

Well, biologically we mature much younger than the age of consent. There are 14 year old girls that easily pass to be "of age" in the looks department.

I don't know where to draw the line, but I don't think the government has any moral authority to draw the line for us. I personally don't know where that line should be drawn and I feel it varies from person to person. So, I disagree with a blanket age, I also don't know of a fool proof solution to ensure everyone can consent. I think this is best left to the parents and individual involved.

By no way am I saying 14 is appropriate to be the age of consent, just some 14 year old's are indistinguishable from a 20 year old in body composition and biological function.

I mean, the founding fathers were marrying girls at 16, but that was a different world.

I think 16 year olds are much…dumber now. But I could be wrong. They could have always been dumb.

It was a much different time because life expectencybwas like 50 yrs old back then haha

Kids are getting more immature, so if anything it should go up from 18.

I could understand back when the average lifespan was 30-ish years old, teenagers had to reproduce earlier. 16 y/o was middle age.

But if you are an over 21+ adult and diddling a 16 y/o (or younger) in this day & age, you’ve got serious issues.

I assume that eventually we will move to age of consent now based on "nature".

If nature allows you create a child, then you are ready to create a child.... it's your body....no "conservative oppression" telling you to "wait until we are comfortable with the idea of you having sex with your body"

So it'll it will be like circumcision, a bar mitzvah/bah mitzvah age of consent, type movement in the next 5-20 years

We already have a major movement here in America arguing that children have the metal capacity to consent to altering their birth sex. As this becomes the norm, it won’t be long until the next step is taken where they argued if kids can consent to something as transforming their sex, they can also to consent to other matters of sexuality. For years we’ve been told the slippery slope isn’t real. That’s a lie.

Think a good rule of thumb is once you are finished with high school you have about a 1-2 year grace period. After that HS girls are a no go. Or not Idc

Whatever the age is, violating it should not constitute rape. I know a few guys that had charges put on them and had to register because of bad choices. But messing with a horned up 16 year old begging for it and banging a passed out drunk 25 year old should not be the same charge..

Many people are concerned about a 16 year old girl having sex with an adult male. And in a thread about estate planning, folks said children were too immature to handle an inheritance until they were 25 or 30.

But if a 15 year old kills someone, the same people will call for him or her to be prosecuted as an adult and given the chair.

Society will not let you drink until 21, buy tobacco, vote or join the military until 18 or drive until 16, yet it has no problem with a 14 year old getting knocked up and killing said offspring (something that will mess them up mentally for the rest of their life and possibly cause physical pain after the “procedure”) and no problem with same 14 year old contracting and spreading STD’s. At least let them dip some Skoal and drink a White Claw and drive to the store to buy it at 14 if you are good with all of the consequences brought on with age of consent at that age.

16 is the legal age in many places around the world and I think in some states too.

It seems fairly young to me.

What is the most perverse is that in the gay community, a 50 year old man can marry a 16 year old boy and they’d expect us to accept that as normal. Sorry bro but that’s molestation.
