What was new orleans like, how were the parties?
I'll always regret passing up the opportunity to go down with one of my buddies; my excuse, "study for a test". I had a fricking A in the class and I knew the material. I don't think I'll ever let that one down.

"Let that one down"? What school did you go to?

It was awesome everywhere in the world.

Right after Tracy Porter's INT I noticed I was crying. I was a little embarassed and began looking around me in the stadium. Everyone in sight was crying. People were hugging and high fiving and crying. It was surreal.

On the way home on the turnpike right before one of the toll booths before Orlando there was a major traffic jam. As we approached we saw car doors open and people standing on the interstate. They were dancing. We rolled down the window and every car had their radios blaring (mostly standup) and people were partying on the fricking interstate. It was surreal.

Sort of, but the thought came to mind. I was thinking today that Ive always wanted to go to the super bowl, but it would never be as great as seeing your team play at home.

Both, according to my friends who watched it at bars in new orleans, when the saints won everyone started to jump around in the streets and chant all through the night. If some of you remember, Mardi Gras was around the corner which meant the city was shutting down for the biggest celebration we've ever had!

an estimated 2 million people went to the victory parade. NOLA had a population of like less than 500k at the time.

It was great, bourbon street was rockin after the game. Then I heard some loud pops, a man holding his stomach and I realized someone got shot about 50 feet away from me. It was super chill

We watched it at my buddy's house uptown. We went ballistic when Porter made the pick.

After the game we went to the quarter. I've can't remember ever seeing so many people there. The amazing thing was that everyone was in a great mood. Strangers high-giving and hugging each other.

In the stadium it was incredible. We were in the end zone and the Colts were heading away from us trying to tie it up. When Tracy Porter intercepted the pass and came our way with it I think I hugged more men and women in the following few minutes than I have my entire life combined.

It was fantastic at the game. I came home with the flu....but it was totally worth it. Pissed I missed the parade though.

Same exact scenario as me. We literally parked in the projects across from the quarter and I didn't feel unsafe at any point. The vibe in the city was incredible that night and it was something I will never forget.

I was in Metairie and after the win everyone on the street went out to the road and started yelling and celebrating. Someone even started popping fireworks a block or so over. I was yelling and high fiving people I don't even know, and I'm not even a Saints fan.

I would like to see the crime stats for that night compared to a regular night in NOLA.

We went to the game and truly felt like a great part of history, at least for Louisiana residents. We were upper deck next to 3 "nuns". Although I'm more of an LSU fan than Saints, I enjoyed that victory even more than that of LSU beating both Oklahoma and Ohio State in the BCS championship game.

It was so surreal inside the stadium. After the Porter INT, I was jumping around and hugging all of the Saints fans around me. What was cool was that they play the same songs as they play in the Dome when the Saints scored. After we kicked the PAT to go up 31-17, they played the "Second Line" over the PA and I could see thousands of white souvenir rally towels waving to it all around the stadium. That's when it really hit me. Playing the "Second Line" in a stadium in Miami....during the Super Bowl. I turned to one of the fans sitting a behind me and asked, "What do you think its like back home in Nola right now?" He couldn't even answer.

It was a night I will never forget.

Watched the game in Metairie and during the last few minutes of the game my brother, myself and a few of our friends all looked at each other and said let's go! We got to the quarter and so did everyone else haha. It was like a locals only Mardi Gras celebration that lasted easily till the next morning and beyond. The floats that night were trucks loaded with people in the truck beds and cars with people hanging out the windows and I seem to recall some deuce and halfs and/or flatbeds loaded with people driving the streets in the quarter all night yelling Who Dat, high fiving and hugging. Flags were being waved and hanging from the balconies and I remember at some point somewhere on Bourbon Street I saw the newspaper print(s) for the first time. I remember this vividly for some reason through the drinking haze that was Saints Superbowl night. The Times Picayune print exclaiming the Saints winning the Super Bowl? And I'm here in the city celebrating with thousands of my fellow long suffering been through hell and back New Orleanians. HOLY shite!

I get chills just thinking about that period of time. It was special.

We watched it at Acme in the quarter. Morton Anderson was at a private party upstairs and came down for a little bit in the 3rd quarter so that was cool. What I do remember is how dead the quarter was for 3 hours and then all hell broke loose after Porter's pick. We walked over to Deanies to watch Bobby Hebert in all of his drunken glory. He was there for about 20 minutes before they went on live and he was sitting at the table with his notes. His reading glasses were on the tip of his nose and he was sipping some hot tea with lemon and honey. They go on and do their opening and we're watching his wife line up shots behind them. As soon as they went to the first commercial break he goes and grabs shot after shot, jumps up on the radio table and starts a Who Dat chant while waiving a towel. In the meantime the Bucktown all stars snuck in the side door and started playing When the Saints Go Marcing In. Such a good night in the city. I also remember riding down Canal St. and seeing everyone hanging out of cars and yelling and singing Who Dat. For one night at least we all like each other.
