We watched NFC Championship and Super Bowl in BR. But after NFC Championship we went to Nola after the game and stayed out until 5 or 6. It was insane then, so I can only imagine what the post party was like for the Super Bowl.

The energy in New Orleans was unlike anything I've ever experienced before or after. it had been building up all year. Probably the best night of my life.
Lucy's had a block party and projected the game onto the building next door. When Porter picked off the pass, it felt like a riot. I instinctively grabbed a beer out of some guy's hand (sorry stranger) and doused myself in it. We knew we had won and the party started. Everyone was hugging strangers, crying, going crazy. Naturally we headed to the Quarter and people along the way were just dancing and celebrating with complete strangers, handing out beers and hugs alternately. Bourbon was as packed as Mardi Gras day but you didnt mind it. It was electric.
Eventually we wanted to go to F&Ms but trying to get a cab didn't even cross our mind. The girls I was with just waved a handful of cash at some brother in his car and he gladly took us there. We hotboxed it the whole way and bought his drinks in there. I don't really remember coming home. It was like a movie.

I will never forget that moment as we were approaching the toll booth! People dancing on top of vehicles. People running around waving Saints flags. Horns blowing nonstop. It was unfreaking real!

an estimated 2 million people went to the victory parade. NOLA had a population of like less than 500k at the time.
Right after the game ended and after I stopped screaming and running around the neighborhood, I called American Airlines and they had mileage awards available so I flew my arse in from Hawaii that night and landed next morning. Went to the parade and nearly froze my arse off since I didn't really prepare for the weather. I was so hammered the flight attendant almost didn't let me on the plane
