They obviously were, as know one went inside the school. They were obviously just following orders of the command. They were even “following orders” to detain anyone that tried.
I don’t care. If the order is wrong, evil, or cowardly, you don’t follow it. “Just following orders” has not been an acceptable defense for doing something atrocious since 1945.

Blaming the Teacher who let shooter in
This is the first I’ve seen of this. The door was unlocked? Or a teacher opened it?
That’s insane if true.

Over 150 cops were on the scene and did nothing while he murdered kids for an hour
If this is accurate, I demand that each & every officer who was on site to have their face & the badge they hide behind plastered across the front page of every newspaper and magazine in this country. The vultures at the SM/MSM had no qualms plastering those innocent children’s faces with no respect to a family’s right to grieve or privacy.

I believe the claim is that a teacher propped it open shortly before this happened.
Posted on 5/27/22 at 12:43 pm to TexasTiger08
It seems she propped the door open for some reason.

There are reports a teacher opened the door and propped it open while getting her phone or something, and forgot to close it.

Students who were in the classroom with the gunman called 911 several times, including a lengthy call during which some shooting and other sounds of the attack could be heard, according to Steven McCraw, director of the Texas Department of Public Safety.
Right, but the reporting is muddled. The press conference also said the two 911 callers survived. And they aren't sure if the 8 children alluded to in the calls survived. I can't actually tell where the callers were because of the horrible reporting.

“Nearly 20 officers were in a hallway outside of the classrooms at a Texas elementary school for more than 45 minutes before agents used a master key to open a door and confront a gunman, authorities said Friday.”
45 minutes right outside the door. 45 minutes. You don’t need 45 minutes to get the key. Bust down the god damn door. I’m sorry, these cowards should be hung and made an example of for this to never happen again.

Even if all the kids that he shot were already shot by the time the cops arrived, getting them medical attention ASAP is then the next priority. That's where lives could have been saved
There were several kids that died from bleeding out, so yes, immediate intervention would have prevented deaths. Imagine the children that were hiding under that table. 5 children survived that classroom. Many more could have been saved. These cops, regardless of whether they were told to stand down or not, are absolute pieces of shite cowards who deserve the justice that is coming to them.

Then explain in reason why 100+ law enforcement agents did not go into that building. After the 1997 North Hollywood Shootout, most agencies required m4s to be carried in all squad cars so officers will never be without evenly matched fire power. Almost ever single cop there had an M4 in their trunk, their are pictures of plenty of cops holstering their M4s. Explain to me why not a single one went into that school.

Anyone remember the ATF's siege and assault on the Branch Davidian compound? I do. This isn't as much a government overreach as inaction, but the results were the same. Who Timothy Mcveigh's response to the incident? I do. I fear that in someone, somewhere, we've kindled the same sort of hate with this mishandling of events.

I am 50 years old and I have seen a lot of shite in my time on this planet, but I’ve never seen a press conference that left me this speechless. The sane and logical side of me wants to give them at least some benefit of the doubt that it was a chaotic scene unlike anything they had ever seen. But the realistic side of me says you never assume children are safe in that situation and you move Heaven and earth to ensure their safety, especially when you keep hearing gunshots.
We will never know the true number that died due to law enforcement’s inaction, and I’m sure that will haunt the parents the rest of their lives.

I don’t understand the rationale for keeping the parents out; it couldn’t have been for their protection.

Every adult involved in this is so incompetent. The police, the teacher who propped a door open and didn’t shut it, the admin of the school who didn’t lock the doors that lead into the building or the classroom doors, especially when the shooter was outside shooting around.
Just complete and total incompetence.

When the hell did I ever say I would “follow orders.” My arse would have been breaking windows and running in ASAP. I’m saying the officers there were obviously sheep “just following orders.” There was an agenda that day and the goal was to ensure that people died, it’s obviously by the actions of those officers that day. I’m not defending a single cop and never will. Agencies operate with agendas, and one was ordered.

#1: Initial officers on scene four minutes after the shooter went in made contact with him and exchanged gunfire. They retreated for “better gear and backup”, totally ignoring active shooter doctrine. Huge mistake #1.
#2: Idiot incident commander declared it a barricaded subject scenario while gunfire was still heard, indicating it was still an active shooter… barricaded subject, you set up containment, active shooter, you go in towards the gunfire. Massive, ridiculous mistake #2.
