Victor White is one of the most egregious examples

quote:

A 22-year-old New Iberia man who Louisiana State Police say shot himself to death while handcuffed in the back of a police cruiser had a gunshot wound in the chest, a coroner's report shows, and not in the back as police had previously said, NBCNews.com reported.

and the coroner still said it was suicide.

I'm a big supporter of police. Its a tough job, and you can deal w/ people at their worse. But how in the hell does a person shoot himself in the chest while in the back seat of a police car while his hands are cuffed from behind?

To throw salt in the wounds, his family settled for 325k- (192k went to the lawyers.)

here is the original TD thread

plenty of "comply or die" comments throughout

LINK

i went 6 pages deep and there was the first reply that said comply or die and one or two people saying he kinda looked like he was reaching. you're acting like it was the overarching theme and that was far from it.

what?

I just said the resident OT bootlickers still did the "comply or die" routine and they did

I don't know how you got that I said it was the majority

the majority of the OT didn't try to defend George Floyds' death either, but just like with this case, the resident bootlickers just love the taste of leather

100% agree with OP

This is where I feel BLM really could’ve latched on is that whites are killed just as much even more by police. It could’ve been a unified front instead it’s divide and conquer.

But I now understand why they didn’t want to take unified approach - they are calling for reparations, free college, more money for social programs etc. Things that they could never get if it was a unified white, black, Hispanic, Asian group approach.

/\ This is spot on!

Tony Timpa is another disgusting version of police brutality leading to death for a non African American.

Which is awful, but most solutions I’ve seen pitched related to “defunding” police departments, at whatever level, will likely only make the problems worse.

mea culpa. i thought you were saying that people were all over defending the police there and reading the thread, it was one or two.

i misunderstood what you meant by resident, thinking you were implying a majority.

The cop in this case is every bit of the worst stereotypes of police. Little man syndrome and a boner for hurting people. If I were a family member of the victim, I'd have a hard time talking myself out of some vigilante justice.

Read the backstory and you’ll really get pissed. Jurors weren’t allowed to see Bodycam footage.

Fair enough but none of the heroes such as Alton Sterling, Michael Brown, or Floyd are dead bc of militarization. They weren’t killed by cops driving tanks.

Exactly. Police brutality is a facade for the shite they really want. I wish people would understand this.

Was this the video where the cop was giving the most confusing instructions ever to the victim? He was basically making the victim do a combination of the hokey-pokey and Twister.

What? I would imagine that the people who served on that jury and have since seen the video are pretty damn upset.

I hope that cop gets pancreatic cancer and suffers miserably until he dies. It would warm my heart.

I'm seeing multiple articles saying the Jury did see the body cam footage. Here's one: https://heavy.com/news/2017/12/daniel-shaver-philip-brailsford-mesa-police-shooting-video-full/

I don't see how a Jury could see that and acquit but it appears that was the case.

They're getting lots of money, that's for sure. When will the SPLC deem them and ANTIFA hate groups? I won't hold my breath.

That could be...confusing news reports:

Shaver's wife requested that the Mesa Police Department release bodycam footage of the event.[20] The request for the bodycam footage was initially refused. In a recording released by Shaver's wife, purportedly of a meeting between her and Maricopa County prosecutors, she was told that she could watch the video only if she agreed not to discuss its contents with the press.[14] Prosecutors and defense attorneys in Brailsford's murder trial asked that the bodycam footage be sealed.[21] Maricopa County Superior Court Judge Sam Myers granted the motion to seal the footage.[22]

“The full unedited body camera footage of the shooting was released by the Mesa Police Department hours after Brailsford was found not guilty of murder and reckless manslaughter.[20]”

“The full unedited body camera footage of the shooting was released by the Mesa Police Department hours after Brailsford was found not guilty of murder and reckless manslaughter.[20]” In the official police report of the incident, Brailsford defended his actions, saying that Shaver crawling towards the officers was Shaver "trying to gain a position of advantage in order to gain a better firing position on us". Shaver had indeed crawled towards the officers after one of them instructed him to. The report stated: "Shaver was co-operative, but sometimes confused by the commands and because of his possible intoxication".[31]

Four months after the shooting, Charles Langley, the officer who gave orders to Shaver, retired from the department. By December 2017, Langley had emigrated to the Philippines.[32][33]
