Once you have a name or style that is "in" your work can literally be garbage and sell for millions. In elementary art class, there was a fairly thick book with paintings from other artists and I'll never forget one that stood out to me the most. It was a solid blue square.

It also helps if you blow a bunch of dudes and get your name out there. At least that’s what I gathered from my one night crash course.

So how many dudes did you blow?

If it wouldn't have been for Andy Warhol proclaiming him a "genius", not a soul on this board would have ever heard of his name. I think he knew that, and thus the heroin.

Can anyone explain to us non-cultured plebs what exactly is going on in that painting and why people would value it at this price point?

I’d genuinely like to understand.

Did he copy that off the side of a train he saw somewhere? Some graffiti artist is owed royalties.

This reminds me of that episode of Doug where Porkchop ran through the paint chasing the racoon and they "messed" up Dougs painting

Well, it turned out to be an exquisite work of art according to the try hards

I've seen better in gang tags on the sides of buildings in North Baton Rouge.

I just don't get art. I try to go into museums of art with an open mind, but it just does not resonate with me.

In SFMOMA, they had a blank canvas. I shite you not. A blank canvas. And underneath they tried to elaborate on its meaning.
