So understanding that capitalism is fair is odd? Hmmm that’s odd in itself. Are you envious of Bezos and hold resentment for him making a fortune off of his idea? Would you feel the same if that were your father that started Amazon?
Oh for frick’s sake. I take back my boomer statement. You apparently have the understanding of a four year old.

I don’t think you fully understand where his wealth and the power of Amazon comes from.
It isn’t e-commerce.
which 3 letters are you implying are where the wealth comes from? AWS or CIA?

Ha! The monopoly he’s created, and to his own credit, on the cloud service industry is unstoppable and unmatchable.

1998 Bezos looks like Kevin Spacey.

It’s amazing how Bezos changed his nerdy look and Elon Musk got hair after making their billions. Bill Gates kept his same look from the beginning.

AWS isn’t a monopoly albeit the leader in the space.

what nonsense
AWS has plenty of competition

the thing about Bezos's wealth is that his cash value is nowhere near that amount, which makes any sort of policy/regulation on the wealth pretty much impossible.

My only qualm with an individual having that level of wealth is the power that comes along with it. He, and other mega-rich billionaires like Bill Gates, have an incredible amount of sway in our country simply because they're insanely wealthy. Add to this the system of crony capitalism that's evolved in our government and now the super-rich can do just about whatever they want.
Which is why this socialism kick is so stupid. We recognize how corrupt politicians are but at the same time want to give them more power which ultimately results in the super rich businessmen having more power.
If you take power away from the federal government, it makes it harder for ultra rich businessmen to sway anything

They are the clear market leader but their competition is getting stronger. Azure, GCP in the USA aren’t close to the market share of AWS but are gaining ground as clients are looking for multi-cloud solutions. They are encouraging us at work to gain GCP certificates.

You want to have your mind blown?
Think about this:
Sears had every single thing in place to be what Amazon is now. Hell, they WERE Amazon long before it was ever thought of. They had the manufacturing (actually owning a chunk of it), they had the warehouses, they had brick and mortar stores, they had deals with rail systems and USPS delivery, that a broad network of businesses that produce (sometimes solely for them) goods for them, and they even had one of the earliest online presences of the large retailers.
They had everything they needed to be Amazon, except the leadership. Sears pissed away the opportunity to make Amazon a much smaller player today. Amazon is the story of Capitalism, but so too is Sears.
