New Orleans just elected, by a very wide margin, a DA that is under 11 counts of federal indictment that ran on a platform of "we aren't going to prosecute jackshit".
The mayor that has allowed the city to descend into madness is currently running unopposed for re-election.
We are getting what we asked for, unfortunately.

Looks like he was mugged in the CBD in 2013 too yap

We just can't cop on the cops and prosecutors anymore. People need to invest in things like guns, burglar bars, storm doors, and alarm systems. It is still possible to be reasonably safe and keep one's property reasonably secure, but you have to do it yourself.

Fortunately I’m only tied to the city for another year and then I can move out of the Parish. Old Metry is looking better and better every day.

Felt safer in Bekka valley back in the day, than I do in most of No now.

Love how one shop owner mentions putting a “curfew” on Burbon. No way in HELL that would happen.

Except that you will be nailed to the wall if you defend yourself.
Remember the guy that was charged after he shot the yout that was breaking in on him and his pregnant wife?

Last time I was on Canal St at Bourbon a "guy" had set up a table and was running a 3 card monty scan. Right in the middle on the sidewalk in front of someone's business.
Before saints games street urchins set up entire fricking mini bars from their ice chests, most right outside restaurants/other establishments ......if a business decided to just serve alcohol without a liquor license they’d be nailed seven ways to Sunday.

New Orleans needs another Katrina flushing.

Why should Troop N be brought back to do the job the City of New Orleans should be doing with our tax dollars?? Instead of spending stupid money when to remove statues and rename streets, New Orleans should be spending that money on police to patrol the Quarter. But that’s how Democratic run cities operate now. Spend taxpayer money on frivolous issues and then expect others to bail them out. Pathetic!!!

You can have 2 cops for every citizen in New Orleans on duty. Unless the DA does their job then it is a waste of time.
The best thing this business owner can do is relocate to an area where he can serve his customer base better. Find an area with less crime or go online with appointments at the customers home or place of business.

Voters have a right to know what Destoya’s position is on Reparations.
I would have a hard time believing that she was not 100% in support of government Reparations for black Americans.
Thing is, her pro reparation stance would actually gain her support.
At least the white citizens can know what they’re dealing with and know that she wants your money, not as part of a fair tax scheme but as payback.

We can't talk about the horrible black on black crime problem in our city. The topic is on gentrification and thewrongfully convicted.

Because it’s in the states best interest and the voters voted yes on the tax to pay for it. That’s why.

OM is pretty great. Bucktown is good too.
There has been a slow creep of negative things from Orleans to Jefferson, though. Just a warning.

Frankly I don't mind the entrepreneurs. They sell beer cheaper than the bars! The crime, trash, dependent mindset, etc I can do without.
