When you demonize any cop that gets involved in interactions with Blacks, what the hell do you expect?
Obviously not all Blacks are bad and not all cops are good, but cops nowadays are thinking about their pension, not stopping situations like this.

Welcome to the 21st, I mean 20th, I mean 19th I mean whatever century you want. Nola is a pirate town that still does pirate things. Like fight, steal, murder, backstab friends and family, have people get way too inebriated and puke in the streets. The rest of the world knows this. Not sure why I just figuring it out are you 12?
No. I'm an adult who actually knows history. New Orleans was a commercial center of the world from the early middle 1800s to about the 1960s. A place where middle class people sought jobs and raised families.
When it decided to abandon actual capitalism for a 3rd World tourism economy, things went downhill fast.
The pirates were gone by 1820, bruh. The abysmal decline of a once first class city since the late 1960s is a real thing.

Scoot picked up the story -
Scoot: A sense of lawlessness is spreading in New Orleans
...he's right, you know.
Scoot: A sense of lawlessness is spreading in New Orleans
quote:
The fight and the car show both present a threat to citizens, tourists, and businesses. Passively allowing this to happen is an example of accepted lawlessness, which, if unchecked, will only invite further acts of lawlessness. The blatant disregard for the law in New Orleans threatens the image and the people who make this area a coveted destination.
quote:
Lawless behavior is now an expected part of life in New Orleans. If one act of lawlessness is allowed to go unchecked, then other acts will follow.
quote:
The city of New Orleans has no option other than to crack down on the general sense of lawlessness that is now part of New Orleans, and that means addressing the behavior of individuals who may be voters or may have the empathy of voters. Lawlessness is growing in downtown New Orleans and the French Quarter because our city is allowing it to grow. When will this be addressed?
...he's right, you know.

Oh frick they are gonna get the head democratic hitman/hitwoman Hillary C. to disappear Scoop with the quickness.
Seriously though. They need to send a message with this shite and the rampant car thefts and jackings.

You know it’s bad when Scoop is calling out this kind is stuff.

He often latches onto low hanging fruit like this thinking it gives him some sort of "balance" cred.

No doubt.
However, he would also be the first to scream racism if one of the criminals were to be arrested.
frick Scoot.
He is a disingenuous POS that probably voted for Teedy twice...and will vote for her sorry arse again soon enough. You can’t fix stupid.

I've never understood why the FQ and even more specifically Canal isn't filled with beat cops. That area should be like the Magnificent Mile in Chicago or Times Square. A place anyone can go to and feel moderately safe and enjoy.

This would be great. However it would take about 200 cops, for 24/7 coverage. But it would be great.

fricking LSP even had a Troop in the Quarter.
The funding ran out at the end of 2020 but I think they just had a vote and renewed it
TROOP N
quote:
Louisiana State Police Troop N is located in the heart of New Orleans and is responsible for vehicle and foot patrols throughout the world famous French Quarter. The French Quarter draws visitors from all over the world who want to experience its award winning cuisine, jazz music and thriving nightlife. Because of its historical, cultural and economic importance to the City of New Orleans and the State of Louisiana a State Police detachment was assigned and Troop N was created.
quote:
Since its inception, Troop N has experienced a large amount of success from its dedicated team of Troopers. Since beginning operations in 2016 Troopers have responded to over 16,000 calls for service, made nearly 3700 arrests, including 1500 drug charges, seized 310 illegal firearms, recovered 230 stolen vehicles and apprehended numerous wanted fugitives to provide a safe environment for the people of the French Quarter.

Back in the day - there used to be undercover cops on canal - but I think that ended in the 1990s

Scoot was involved in a pedestrian hit & run in the French quarter last year. Got ran over by a motorcycle. He’s been on this dangerous FQ kick since then
Posted on 5/18/21 at 4:05 pm to tgrbaitn08
Troop N should be brought back. Two fold. Just makes economic sense.

He should probably stick to the St Ann side of the Quarter. It’s probably safer for him over there.
