Our military translates into politicians in a room making this decision. Don’t blame the troops, this was politics.
I agree with this to an extent, but everyone involved admits to following that man for hours and tracking his every movement. Troops were gathering that intel. You can debate at what level the decion was ultimately made, but if this proves to be true it was a failure at all levels.

Drone warfare should be considered a war crime. Why the pro-war democrats love them so much is beyond me.
This is not a “democrat” thing.

Look up! There goes the point.

Terrible. And I can’t help but acknowledge how disgustingly predictable it is that the very final thing the US does as we are leaving Afghanistan is bomb an innocent family and try to cover up the crime.
A grimly fitting conclusion to this war.

These sorts of terrible things happen. Happened far more than Tom Browkaw and Tom Hanks told us in the books and movies about WW2.

Drone strikes have been going on since we developed drones. It has gone on through democrat and republican administrations. Politicians like drones because no service members are at risk. However, because the operators are detached from the assignment, errors are more likely.
It’s a messy way to do it and it has a long track record of killing non-combatants.
But for a right winger to suggest that American drone warfare is a “democrat” thing is offensive. It is a practice that the US uses regardless of who occupies the White House.

No one comes close to matching the intensity in which Democrat presidents use drones. Especially Barrack.
You’re lying as usual.

This is what you wanted. This is what you voted for.

You know trumps 4 years didn't have a bunch of terrible drone strikes because it would have been wall to wall coverage for weeks

There are a lot of "its possible" and "maybes" in that video. The military thought his car was full of bombs and would soon be headed to the Kabul Airport to blow up a ton of people. I see no evidence in the video to refute that.

Didn't they call him like some religious leader or something?

Google collateral murder and you'll quickly understand why Julian Assange had to stay holed up in a single building for half a decade.

I feel queasy defending Obama but there aren’t many other that had the capability. Drones haven’t been around 100 years so only a handful of Administrations to compare it to. It’s like high tech surveillance these days. We couldn’t always read the time on a mans watch from the other side of the world.

An entire family in Afghanistan was extinguished to prevent Joe Biden from having to endure a news cycle accusing him of weakness
Keep defending him.
