As long as I can remember this is a typical Louisiana Winter. Yeah, some years are colder than others, but one day having a low that is almost freezing only to warm up to mid 60s.. The next day the low is in the lower 60s.. This is as stereotypical of a Louisiana winter as you can get.. If you are indeed referring to the winter in Louisiana.

Living on the gulf coast is always a thrill ride in terms of temperature differential when the winds change from north to south

Exactly. This warm, rainy weather certainly will cause prices to rise.

Cold weather, warm weather, great weather, all of them cause Crawfish prices to rise!

Why is it so damn warm in January.
It was 36 degrees at my house in Baton Rouge at 7 AM today.

How cold does it have to get before it's not "warm" to you?

You guys know they track these things, right?

As for the OP, he's absolutely right. The past 30 days have been substantially above normal.

It’s easy to forget all the warm winters we have had. The cold and/or icy winters tend to stand out in people’s minds. It’s human nature.

Seems to be 3-4 degrees higher on avg for the last 30 days according to the post above...is that 'much higher than normal?'

The 90 day looks about in line with the average...appears the last month has been warmer than usual where this winter (so far) has been right at the average.

I don’t know why so many people are giving you shite bc you’re absolutely right. While I agree that we don’t always have freezing cold temps, we still wear pants and lite jackets or a thin long sleeved shite in Dec, Jan, & Feb.

It’s been so hot midday that I still wear shorts, tanks, & flip flops daily.

With the exception of a couple mornings running the heat to get the chill out, I have ran my A/C everyday. I’m 46 and can’t remember another time running the a/c every single day.

February is usually our cold month IMO

This is factually incorrect. February is often colder for the upper midwest, but early to mid January is the coldest window for the gulf south.

I remember Christmas being 80 degrees. Cyclical climate.
