They were highest before the 2008 financial crisis. They have been high during the Obama administration, the Biden administration and now the second Trump administration. In this instance it's not likely there is a quick fix. And we don't know the true upper bound of where the prices could go.

I know what you mean. I commute about 80 minutes each way for work amd my truck gets 14mpg. Im not getting overtime at work right now and gas is costing me over 200 bucks a week

Do you understand how much more oil is on the market today bc of hyrdaulic fracturing/unconventional reservoirs than 10-15 years ago? We are currently producing more oil than any country in history
