You might be able to get into the construction industry. Though you'd be limited by not having a stamp. What kind of minimum entry level pay would you be looking into your new field? Not having a stamp limits your options. But I've known mechanics engineering grads that ended up doing civil and structural engineering work. Without the stamp, you could work on the qc/qa end of the industry. The more specialized the type of inspection, the better the pay. But a high end, non traveling qa inspector should easily make $25-30 an hour, plus OT. QC is looking at $20+. It's ask about certifications. Travelers make more. I'm waiting on a job offer for $35+ an hour with almost guaranteed 20 hours OT. Opportunities are out there if you're able to move.

Coatings, cwi, non destructive testing, and others can pay very well. Industrial qa can pay huge with the right certs, 100-150k+, if your in the right location. Though some certs cost a few thousand dollars or more, and can have multiple levels.

A safe bet with mechanical experience, could be ICC Combination special inspector. It involves every construction aspect; mechanical, plumbing, electrical, soils, reinforced concrete, etc. That would keep you local with steady pay, especially if you can hire on with a municipality.

It was a nickname for a friend who thought he could speak different languages once he got drunk. He'd approach chicks who, based on their appearance he thought were from foreign origins, and he jackassly would mimic how he thought that language sounded. Yeah, why would they want to hire someone who knows how to do the job they are hiring for?

That's fine for making widgets, but what if you need to hire someone to solve problems you don't currently have staff to do? Do you keep hiring the same way hoping to increase your company's capabilities, or do you hire someone who's shown the ability to learn to solve complex problems on their own?

Galvanize if you have 20k and want to make large amounts of money in the best industry out there, software. I have a buddy who instructs at the one in Denver and the graduation placement rate is over 90% with a starting salary around 90k. Another option on a similar path, software, would be Udacity
