And let me preface this with saying because of who i work for I guarantee you i have outstanding health insurance for my family.
With that said, my kiddo was sick from daycare a while back. Runny nose, congestion, cough, all of it. We went to his pediatrician and she flat out told us she isn’t worried about COVID for him. She would be far more concerned about RSV, influenza, or pneumonia for his age and the vast vast majority of her child patients.
And again, i implore you to do some actual research on the CDC’s website about COVID for those under the age of 17. There have been less than 1k deaths in the United States in 2 years. For a population of 80 million, the vast majority had cancer or a life threatening illness. Still a tragedy. In that same time frame, pneumonia has taken more lives for that age group.
But to say i don’t care about children because i don’t care or am not ignorant enough to believe that if 100% of society isn’t vaccinated is utterly ridiculous. Stop fear mongering.

People in cities or their homes who get covid are not sent to these places. They quarantine in their homes or end up at a local/city hospital if their symptoms are bad enough.

I’m pro vaccine but Australia is on another level of dumb right now. There is no reason to keep people locked in their houses at this point.

They will arrest you for not wearing a mask. They have arrested individuals in their homes for having too many people within the house. People cannot travel beyond a certain distance from their home and have to have a reason to leave their home. There are reports and videos of groups of teenagers being arrested for meeting on the beach and people being arrested for not wearing their masks.
Supporting and promoting anti-lockdown protests has resulted in arrests as well.
Australia has actually become a meme about tyranny at this point.

I just got back from a trip to Aruba. They make you buy an insurance policy before you get to the island that pays for a two week quarantine if you pop hot before your return flight. I thought "two more weeks at the resort, sweet!" and then I read the fine print. If you fail the text they come and get you and take you to a government "facility" where they lock you in a room for two weeks. They feed you in your room. You don't leave the room. You can't stay with your travel companion, you are alone. I talked to locals who told me the "facility" is a prison.
There was NO way I was letting anyone lock me up in a prison for 14 days because of a nose swab test.
