Second, what about my freedom to go do things I want to do without the worry of getting sick?

Go ahead. No one's stopping you. Unlike you, I don't advocate trampling others' rights. If you're worried about getting sick "doing things," you're either a giant pussy or a doorknob licker (or both). Or, you were planning to tongue kiss random sick people, in which case you'd likely and deservedly get a mudhole stomped in your arse. So yes, you should be worried about that.

How worried were you about getting sick by simply "doing things" before you ever heard of COVID?

quote:

Or my neighbor’s freedom to send his kid to school without the worry of her get covid?

Same as above. If that's an issue, either your neighbor is as big a pussy as you, or his daughter is a booger eating doorknob licker ... or both.

quote:

This isn’t about “freedom” writ large.

It very much is.

quote:

This about you don’t like being told to do something

... that violates the most basic and innate of my freedoms and liberties.

quote:

that benefits other’s abilities to do the things they want to do

It doesn't, period. And others have zero rights to violate mine.

quote:

even if ultimately it will benefit you as well.

See above.

quote:

This is about you desiring to do what you want, when you want

Yea, imagine that. Life, liberty, etc.

quote:

even when the situation dictates otherwise.

There is no situation that dictates otherwise, least of all you and your neighbor being gigantic pussies and doorknob lickers.

quote:

And by the way, this has been done all over the world, including in the States, for millennia. Quarantine is perhaps the most basic concept for those who are ill.

Don't remember too many mass "quarantines" at the point of a government gun in my lifetime. Regardless, your cheerleading for it does not make it palatable.

quote:

It’s two fricking weeks in a government provided

You misspelled taxpayer.

quote:

air conditioned house with tv and internet and access to recreational facilities.

Guarded and enforced by a government gun (a gun like those the Aussie citizenry gave up), with zero freedom to move, assemble, and do those things that you alluded to for yourself.

quote:

Then you go home.

I'm already home. frick off.

quote:

It’s not two weeks of hard labor and then you go on a death march. Take your false equivalencies elsewhere.

Speaking of false equivalencies, reread your own post. Then, go frick yourself.

that’s not the same as requiring people to be vaccinated to simply be able to participate in society. but another well thought out point chief.

I (unfortunately) know some anti-vaxxers. Their kids go to public school, and, they allowed to go to the grocery store unimpeded.

You’re mistaken. Perhaps you have covid brain. There was a travel restriction put in effect from people traveling from Louisiana

How is going to school not participating in society. You need to take 5. Grab a Gatorade.

What?

Yeah, my favorite was when Vlad the Impaler used plague victims as biological weapons against the Turks. When they died, he staked them up alongside his fallen enemies to bolster his impaling effect.

Slavery has also been around for millennia. Guess that makes it okay, huh?

Nah. I do what I want now. Just pointing out the silly argument about “muh freedom” when the other side makes similar arguments. No one likes this situation. One side is saying (ironically) “WE CAN TELL YOU WHAT TO DO WITH YOUR BODY” and the other is saying (ironically) “MY BODY MY CHOICE” and we’re all yelling in our corners about freedom. And it’s stupid.

But, hey, Auschwitz is in Australia right now. Freak out.

After dipshit equated a two week quarantine to Auschwitz, you just equated a two week quarantine to slavery. Congratulations. Y’all have reached peak meltdown.

Jesus you’re a drama queen.

It wasn’t actually enforced by anyone was it? it was a suggestion? now how is that comparable to a forced mandatory quarantine camp regardless of vaccination status or test results?

those are children required to be vaccinated to attend public schools. (which i support)

but, are you suggesting that people should have to be vaccinated to buy groceries, go to a doctor, attend a movie, go to the gym?

I mean I didn’t throw a shite fit. It was fine. Was enforced by DPS. They checked on me to make sure I didn’t break it.

No. I think they should be vaccinated because the vaccines are safe and, so far, have been effective. But wear a mask and that’s fine. Of course, you’re against any safety measures because the death rate is low. You don’t care about the other effects of it. It’s just a cold after all.

No. I don’t think you should listen to the government on this. Listen to your doctor. Not Fauci. Your doctor

Pretty weak, dude.

Pfffttt... bunch of amateurs.

We're living in a time when you can't have statues, team mascots, or tie a knot in a rope without an FBI investigation because those things cause people to think of dark times, and making them feel "unsafe" and literally tremble in terror...

But somehow forcing people to relocate to camps shouldn't be seen as traumatic or reminiscent of terrible times when people were summarily killed like animals.

It's odd the battles people pick.

If your metric for "effective" is simply; you probably won't get it but if you do it won't be as bad as if you didn't have the shot then ok...

But that makes it a treatment not a vaccine..
