Zillow would be so much better if verified people who looked at a house could post pictures and make comments on what they saw.

I image a large percentage of “active” realtors have other forms of income… it’s more of a side hustle and not bread winning…. But idk.

By brother is a teacher but a few years ago got his realtors license so he could help out at his in-laws real estate company part time in the summers. I think he has only sold 1 or 2 houses in that time frame but the money from it was good enough to keep doing it. I imagine there are a decent percentage of that 1.6 million number that are in a similar boat.

It's been that way for a long time. The top 5% do about 85-90% of the sales. Sales in general is that way, not just residential sales.

Have you considered the possibility that it is listed beyond its actual value?

My guess is it is the 4k sq ft house on Pickett for 700k that instead of dropping in price over the last year and a half it's gone up Nice home, but at some point you have to come down on price.

That was on the market when I bought over 3 years ago and still there

Two most worthless careers females fall into and think they’re amazing. Photographer and Realtors.

Realtors are like car salesmen, an out dated profession that really doesn't provide much value for the cost in the transaction.

My brother sold his house on his own, hired a lawyer to prep the legal documents for cheap and saved $$$$ on commissions.

Stout, how does your foreclosure business project over the next 18 months? What's the horizon look like?

Most people probably becoming one just to buy/sell own house.

I’m not terribly surprised at the number.

I’d bet all of the ones not closing a deal were not doing more than 25% of their family’s income even at peak earnings. Part time gig people

No way that is accurate. Real estate agents typically make 3% per transaction right? If median price Of 200k is used and they do 300 transactions a year they are making 1.8 million. In lake Charles. No shot.

i live 30 miles south of Waco in a historic downtown neighborhood and there's a couple that decided they wanted to be their own Chip and Joannas down here. nice couple. they bought some dumps and flipped them very well.

their last one to finish, came open right as rates went from 3-4ish to 6-7ish% and houses started to sit.

it's a very nice remodel and cozy little house, but they asked $375k for a 3/2 1600 sf and haven't moved. MAYBE when the market was at its' highest that was possible and even then they wouldn't have gotten full asking IMHO, but they're insane asking that much and haven't budged in a month. This is a home in Temple, TX... not Austin or Dallas.

I am pretty sure I know who stout is talking about and it's legit. I think she won a national award recently as the top producer.

That’s insane. That means they sell a house every working day essentially.
