Vents didn't work because we misunderstood the virus and we misunderstood the virus because we didn't try to understand the virus....we did what we always did in such matters and it didn't work.

If there is a takeaway for me in all of this...I hope we rethink our processes for understanding maladies such as this. Might just have saved us from a lot of unnecessary moments

You sound like a politician in the making.

In Scruffy’s opinion, the reason they are doing that is because it is the only way they can continuously justify the stupidity they supported and still support.

In political terms, illusions that satisfy the masses are greater than reality. Politicians are prone to please the press, not address actual concerns.

Jay Inslee understands this. He also understands that BigCorp in his state will be ok, it's the small business that will suffer.

The politicization of this has become ridiculous. It can simultaneously be true that

A)The initial reaction and restrictions were entirely appropriate given how little was known about the virus at the time

and

B) At this point Louisiana, and other states, are moving too slowly in reopening their economies.

It's also perfectly reasonable to advocate for a return to normalcy on most fronts while still recognizing the wisdom of wearing masks when in close quarters with strangers.

The real issue is that dweebs on both extremes can't see most people are scattered along a spectrum and feel between doing nothing and shutting it down are an incredible variety of options.

Unfortunately our fate was in the hands of politicians.

My issue is when the facts started to present themselves we remained in lock down and are still in phase 1.

There are more than a few governors who are enjoying their feeling of power in this situation. That pretty much explains that.

LOL

I'm old enough to remember just a couple of months ago that you mocked anyone who disagreed with a mass shutdown.

When I asked in a thread why something this major was needed, your response was "Because this is a novel virus, now go run back to Breitbart".

I actually had to look up that stupidity because I don't hang around Filth like you any longer.

This was politicized back in January when Trump shut down travel and was called a racist. Then calling it the Wuhan virus was racist. Everything was racist. Point being, this was politicized from the start by folks you vote for.

Load that up with constant fear porn and now the Democrats and the MSM openly supporting the CCP, and here we are.

Just funny to see folks like you trying to be "Reasonable" now.

It’s almost as if my opinions can change as situations change.

I know that’s difficult to understand for someone like you.

You can at least acknowledge when you were so wrong.

Are you wrong now, as well?

This happens when you have terrible opinions based on the opinion of others to start with.

You never had opinions, you just borrowed someone else's.

Louisiana has nearly 40,000 cases...do you honestly not believe it was necessary to put some measures in place?

How many required hospitalization?
And not state wide measures

Even with the lockdown, projectionswere much worse.

People freaked out over Italy, but the US has far better ICU capacity and care than Italy.
