Doesn’t the state control the national guard in each state?

That’s the long term play. Raise the kids right for the future.
You are also ignoring
National guard in NOLA
His revamping of the LSU leadership academically
His revamping of LSU athletics.
He’s like Trump if Trump actually had real wins.

The uproar over that was ridiculous
God forbid that these perpetrators might have to have heard “Thou shall not kill” at school.

Hopefully they will put the national guard in BR now, although a little too late
Are they going to put them in the hall food court?

Some worldview circulates in every LA classroom. Every single one, every single skool day.

I think Jeff Landry likes to "order" things that are inevitable. LSU was going to crack down on gameday violence because that will be protected at all cost. Its too important to have that become something people don't feel safe going to. You think the crackdown happened because he ordered it?
Jeff Landry is a watered down version of Huey P Long. Also, I think he did a few things early on involving LSU that pissed off LSU people (like the tiger he brought in) that he has been trying to appear pro LSU in order to gain some of that support back, but while doing so he gets too involved.
Personally, I think as governor, he shouldn't be focused as much as he has, on showing more support for one university. I am not saying he shouldn't cheer on LSU, he just needs to be on the outside looking in and be supportive of all the universities. Universities have presidents and governing bodies, there are other things a governor should be worried about. Infrastructure, tax codes, education, health insurance, maybe just in general trying to make the state a place more and more people leave out of every year.
And New Orleans, sure he got the national guard in there, but I think over the past several months anything positive coming out of New Orleans has more to do with who is not the mayor there anymore and maybe even who the current mayor is. I don't know exactly what she has done so far, but I know every Sunday morning she post an update on social media discussing what she is working on or whatever issues is going on, but Landry is going to take credit wherever he can. He has to if he wants to even have a chance to get re-elected again.
When a politician is newly elected there is a process that happens. Early on in their term they will gain the support of people they didn't have during the election and they will do some things that will cause them to lose some of the support they had. They can't do anything that makes them look vulnerable and that's what Landry has done. I guess we will see when election time comes around and whether there are any major candidates and if he is seen as beatable, but he isn't very popular.
