The age of DNA had a lot to do with that. Unless they can go full Dexter, they're going to leave something behind and the ability to link killings is much easier today. Throw in the DNA databases with the ability to identify someone who's third cousin did a DNA test, and being a serial killer has gotten a lot harder.

A couple months ago some other poster was trying to tell me that millennials and younger had no serial killers among them.

How many does a person have to kill to be considered a serial killer?

I think that falls into the category of the Supreme Court definition of pornography.

You know it when you see it.

That's a crock.

There will always be people who kill others for their own thrill.

Just like it's stupid when Boomers/Gen X say Millennials/Gen Z are built softer, it's stupid to inundate an entire group of people with invisible virtue because they have a certain birth date.

There's an actual definition.

quote:

A serial killer is typically a person who murders three or more persons,[1] usually in service of abnormal psychological gratification, with the murders taking place over more than a month and including a significant period of time between them.[1][2] While most authorities set a threshold of three murders,[1] others extend it to four or lessen it to two.[3]

With the internet and all the ways people can socially connect I assume these sickos are having a time. Some guy did a comedy bit about how serial killers must be breaking records with all the needy attention seeking idiots that trust online profiles.

I’m convinced there are serial killers that work in nursing homes.

Likely. Plenty of doctors and nurses are in jail for serial murder.

Why are you worrying about serial killers that might have a dozen or so victims.

Big pharma and AMA have caused the deaths of millions by suppressing safe, effective therapeutics for covid in the last five years.

Imagine how many people have killed three or more people that reside in NBR today?

I bet the number is staggering .

There are, but I doubt it's that many. It's a lot harder to be a serial killer in the conventional sense these days. Technology has made it much harder to get away with. And the type like Gacy or Bundy was a lot more prevalent back in the 60's and 70's. There's a theory that lead paint played a factor.

Huge, young Boomer population then who had more initiative. They were go getters.

And the ones that didn't turn out to be serial killers ran this country into the ground. What a great accomplishment.
