I would say the population has grown double since the interstate highway was built back in the 1960s.
I'm currently traveling on I -12 and I didn't know it was this bad over here on a weekday.
When they built these highways fifty - sixty years ago, did they imagine all this traffic? It should be mandatory four lanes in each direction.
Why cant Louisiana, Mississippi , Alabama, and Florida come together and expand our interstate highway system. I would be okay with a toll road like they have in south florida.

It's next to retardation that there's only two lanes that go from Satsuma to Covington.

It’s a Federal road. Lobby them.

So the federal government is the one that determines if a extra lane needs to be built?

Basically yeah. The Interstate system was setup during the Eisenhower administration in the first place. Much of it it seems is still suited for the late 50s in terms of travel capacity.

You’re talking about the 3 poorest and lowest IQ states in the Union here…

Dims spent it all on Covid fraud and Minnesota fraud and California fraud and Biden's Infrastructure Bill scam and the Green New Scam

Love it when people in Louisiana complain about fraud in other states like it’s someone else’s problem.

The Belle Chasse bridge is the best example.
The Lt Governor is going to make the state buy this bridge at an exorbitant cost just so his constituents don't have to pay.

Plan A is not working (traveling to Destin from BR).
Plan B: Clean up Holly Beach and create your own Destin, that will show em.

We can’t keep our existing highways/interstates in good shape.

Mississippi is almost and soon will be state line to state line three lanes on I10 . Four lanes on most exits and merge lanes. No matter where you are within twenty minutes you can be on a four lane traveling north or south , east or west all the way to the state line. Roads have come a long way here in the last ten years.

Mississippi and Florida do a damn good job at infrastructure. Louisiana and Alabama, not so much.
Good news is LADOT sent out a recent survey regarding future I-12 improvements.

The section of I-12 between Hammond and (I think) Slidell was built in the mid-1970’s.
Worst thing to happen to the northshore since the Causeway.

I’ll take Levee maintenance pre Katrina.
