Doing podcasts with Rogan doesn't mean you're a tough guy, Theo.
I'm pretty sure grabbing by the throat here was excessive and unwanted and balloon boy might have gotten himself a sweet B-day payday from Theo, cause that's misdemeanor battery 101.
It'll be hard for Theo to argue balloon-boy was a major threat to him, he just overreacted. Probably 20-30k in restitution will cover this. Probably diversion by prosecution if he pays up.

You’re right. He’s not funny at all. He was an annoying little douche on whichever stupid MTV show he was on. He’s just happened to come around during a time when the comedic bar has been significantly lowered and every idiot has a podcast. Number of “followers” on instagram is confused with success. 40-50 years ago, when you had to be really funny, he never would have made it. He’s more of a self indulgent idiot that babbles, and occasionally says something funny. Relative to really talented, funny comedians, he’s a lounge lizard.

Theo fricked your girl apparently

I find Theo entertaining, I agree his not a comedian. But he is a humorist, a storyteller. Somewhere twixt Mark Twain and Larry the Cable Guy.
And Theo seems like a sincere guy, REAL comedians like him find him funny

Seeing what's happened to Covington makes me angry too

Used to be that people left celebrities alone in Nashville.
Everyone thinks they're one viral video away from being a celebrity themselves.

Assuming he pulls chick based on name recognition, here's a question. Would you rather be good looking and well off, or be ugly and be relatively wealthy/famous and get women that way.
My money is on good looking/well off. Pulling chicks aint' shite if you hate yourself and look like a mop. Theo's drug use does imply he has self esteem and "happiness" issues.

Interesting. They must only use famous people to interview the president.

I once got the shite slapped out of me by an angry wayne toups at contaband days.
I once literally ran into Chuck Liddell at the Atlanta airport. I was behind him and he stopped quickly, and I bumped into him. He just looked like a big dude with a hat on from the back. He turned around and I recognized who he was. He just said, "My bad." I looked at him and said, "Ah, hell......of all people to run over...."
He laughed and we chatted as we walked. He apologized again and asked if I wanted a pic, and I said sure. We took the pic, we shook hands, and he went on his way.
Of course, if I tell the story these days I tell folks I ran over Chuck Liddell, knocked him down, laughed at him, and he didn't do shite.
Not really, he was pretty much retired then and was still pretty big, and his hands were huge.

It's 2025 and folks still haven't realized that everyone's idea of "funny" is different.
Just like people's ideas about good music, good food, etc
Have never understood the stance of "I don't like XYZ so therefore it's trash."

Did you get your law degree at Southern?

You say that like it’s a good thing. Who knows how many great comedians we missed out on because they couldn’t get on Carson or just had one bad set on his show. It’s a million times better for comedy lovers today.
I don’t like Theos stand up that much, but I enjoy his interviews. He’s fun to listen to.

I know he was trying to get a reaction out of Theo, but I don’t think he expected him to actually stand on business.

Ehhh, I've seen too many standup comedians who have successful podcasts who without the podcast would stand no chance of even being able to book the rooms they get, much less selling them out. With podcasters, particularly those who got famous from the podcast before getting a good following with standup, I've found that many of them just aren't that great.

Well I met him in Vegas for LSU USC and said hey man nice to meet you. Big fan.
I used to chat with him at the LSU Rec Center in the late 90s. He was popular bc of Road Rules but he was always very friendly. So I’m glad for his success. No reason to hate on a local boy who makes it.

Actually saw Theo at a BBQ joint outside Nashville couple of months ago . Left him alone like a normal person.
I met him at the gym steam room earlier this year. I pretended like I didn’t know who he was. He was pretty much the guy you see on his podcast. I always thought it was an act.
