Why are people bettering themselves and not working cheap labor to give me cheap items to consume!!!!

The entitlement is my favorite part of this whole thing. The restaurant shortages have been in the news for several months now, so why are you surprised when it takes a few minutes longer to get your food? If that time is so valuable, don't go out to eat.

There isn't much else you can say about it

I can say a lot about it. The "American Rescue Plan" is literally paying people an EXTRA 15K+ on top of normal unemployment benefits (with no cap) NOT to go to work. Obviously, this company cant afford a 6MM payroll outlay to get people off of their couches.

The true irony spleen is that I've heard republicans state for years that these jobs are purely for teenagers and were never made to make a career out of for adults, so why should they take them and build their life around them?

And now, they're bitching because those same people decided "frick this" and refuse to work low skill, low wage, no benefit jobs because they're tired of being undervalued, and now teenagers.. the real demographic for these jobs, are taking up the slack.

Side note: I'll be really interested in seeing in the states getting rid of benefits how much the job market expands in all actuality. I really doubt it is going to be much. Covid did a number on everyone and a lot of people straight up relocated or moved.

When I was a 12-15 yr old I put out flyers to cut grass, clean up garages, do yard work, and do odd jobs for people.

I raised enough money to buy a pong video game console and a black & white TV. Still had money left over to go hang with my friends on the weekends.

Just enough cash + eviction moratorium = current mess.

Where was he looking? Dominoes on Bluebonnet is offering a $1000 signing bonus. When I was a teen, my paychecks wheee under $100/week.

A dairy plant here in rural WI is advertising a $2000 signing bonus.

They pay a lot better than Domino's as well. I think they start close to $20/hour.

The state + the Federal boost for UI benefits in Louisiana is within $10/week of the median wage in the state.
Right, these people are netting 2k per month to literally sit at home. Why would anyone work when they can sit on their asses and make the equivalent of 30k per year? Granted the market for semi-decent jobs isn't great right now, my brother was laid off and without a "decent" job for almost a year, but he worked 2 side hustle type of jobs to make ends meet. There are plenty of jobs for low skill workers, though.

At the same time, I don't think it makes sense that businesses can pay people an amount of money to where the employee still qualifies for government assistance, while working 40 hours per week. That's just tax payers subsidizing the company at that point.

This is raw stupidity. I rarely eat at restaurants, so its not about my convenience. Its about over 10million americans sitting at home collecting 30K+ per year to do nothing as small businesses, already weakened by the pandemic, continue to die. And its completely preventable.

What happens when the money runs out and there are no jobs for these people to go back to?

frick, liberals are stupid.

Which if this was the case and they truly bettered themselves and moved on I would be cool with it. Instead the reality most of them are just sitting at home living off the government which I’m not cool with.

i’ll say this again, the OT Lefties have explained ad nauseam that the workforce shortage has absolutely nothing to do with the extra $300/month unemployment and rent forgiveness. Y’all stop.
