And ski boats?!?! That's long been insane. Many ski boats cost more than the average house these days.

Saw some of the wake boats in my area are going for $250k+ and you can't even fish out of them plus everyone hates your guts on the lake.

I have a friend who bought a brand new Air Nautique G25 that cost in the mid 300's. It amazing to go out and wake surf and enjoy the water but I can't wrap my head around that price when ski boats 15 years ago were like $60K

You can get a very capable sxs for $11K, which isn’t a whole lot of money in 2024.

The machines that cost $20K+ have almost 100 HP, or have heat and air conditioning. If you don’t want that stuff, don’t pay for it.

Not to be an arse, but you're not getting any heat much less a/c in that 20k price point. I was in the business for 5 plus years. Like all have stated, boats, sxs, and ATV's have gone crazy in price over last few years. And yes, there's many not so sharp folks out there paying over 450 month on them and for 8 years on big ticket sxs! It's insane. I'm glad I got out of that business, started to feel bad for all of the bad decisions people were making, although I made a very good living at it. Sorry so long, but my take

Not me. I purchased a used Can AM 1000 commander a few years ago that had some wiring gremlins. bought it for 3,000 dollars not running. 1200 dollars worth of parts, my brother had it running in a week.

My new (to me) Bass boat is a 2017 18' triton loaded will all of the best electronics, trolling motor and power poles for 28,000. Cheap because of the 200 HP two stroke motor no one wants. This boat brand new equipped as is would be around 65k

I don't buy new toys.

I said 20K+. The point was that these machines are as capable and comfortable as your wallet, but you can still order a basic model. This is like bitching about how much a 3500 Denali costs when you just want a 1500 work truck.

Is owning a separate bass boat and ski boat the ultimate flex?

Just like I don’t take the F-350 into town, I take the A8. Gotta use the right tool for the job.

I looked at those prices years ago and just bought an old, beat up (but reliable) Ford Ranger pickup to run around the property in. Cost me $500, still going strong.

You always see them jacked up being pulled by squatted trucks and all together.... the package is worth more than the double wide those peeps live in.

The new 2025 Mastercraft X Star 23' (not the 25') has an MSRP of $522K.

As we see the American dream dying out, we see more and more people just living for the moment. It’s a fairly rational decision.

When I was younger I bought an old 90s jetski for $150. Spent about $200 fixing it and used the piss out of it for a summer down at Orange Beach. Sold it for $700 when I was done with it.
