How do yall feel guilty about not tipping someone who is being paid normal wages?

How much money do you give to feed the children or unicef at grocery stores? how much you donate to save puppies at the pet store?

All these places have this shite, are yall feeling guilty and paying a years salary to save puppies? OR just the dude that rubbed his nuts on your breakfast sandwhich?

Credit card tips they 100% arent. But I would be surprised if they werent getting the full amount on their check.

I cannot STAND tipping before I'm provided a good or service. This new trend is infuriating.

The biggest scam is rounding up for charity. The company makes the donation and takes the deduction, lol.

They are absolutely getting the money, any shady business operator caught skimming would lose their business license, get sued, go bankrupt, and be criminally charged with fraud, theft, tax evasion, etc. It's not worth it for a restaurant owner or manager to skim tips. Not to mention the risk of being caught outside after closing up by some of your disgruntled employees you got caught ripping off.

To the person who mentioned festival workers.... like an ice cream or beer booth setup at the Magnolia Fest etc, this is the one area where the electronic tips don't necessarily go to the employee. In those types of setups, the person handing you the hot dog or Miller Light is usually a contractor and not an employee of the actual vendor, so if your tips aren't cash, there is a chance that a shady vendor could just keep the electronic tips.

It gives me great pleasure telling them no when they ask that now. Seems like that is happening way more often now

I can't imagine anyone actually being dumb enough to go for that

So this is a Square software "feature"

They are highly responsible for this influx of tipping requests because, shocker, they make more money the higher in credit card charges they take in. So adding tips benefits themselves.

100% False.

Yeah, no it's not. I suggest looking into it. And my original comment was in no way defending the practice. It's ridiculous. Also, ask your local waffle house server if they bump them up to minimum wage on shifts where they only make 23 dollars in tips. Lots of them don't.

I got to McD's 1-2 times a week for breakfast. The same group has worked there for a long time. I give a buck to the person at each window.

My unsweet tea is always piled full of ice. It is a double speaker drive thru and they always take my order as soon as a pull up. THey pull people over so I don't have to wait.

So, some people in this small town who are willing to work get a little extra money and I get extra service.

The IRS taxes you on money verifiably paid to you. The IRS does not tax you on some formula of "what you theoretically should have made". You are ridiculous.

My wife's sister was a Waffle House Waitress for 5 years.

This is a completely different subject, and has nothing to do with your claim that people get taxed based on what they "should" have made with tips based on register receipts. You are absurd. You have absolutely no concept of PCI governance, tax law, labor law, POS systems, payroll system integration, etc.
