Why exactly do you need an ar 15?

People use them to hunt wild hogs.

You may make excuses all you want, but, as sad as it is, this breach of protocol made this tragedy 100% easier to occur.

No excuses, it's a crazy blame game.

Wait, why take away ARs?

How about we keep the blame on the evil frick who pulled the trigger.

Obviously the blame is there. But the other adults in the room or literally standing outside could have prevented deaths.

And how do you do this? I’m all ears for you magnificent plan.

Just remember, the government stood outside with rifles and did nothing.

There are also some 12 gauge shotguns that will hold 40 shells - I promise you that's not useful as a hunting weapon - at all - why are those exempted from your critique? I own a few shotguns - but they have wooden stocks so I guess they don't look scary. What is it about an AR that gets people's panties in wad?

For better or worse I think it comes down to two things:

1. the platform was purpose-designed for warfare and is one of the most battle-tested platforms in the world with due defence to the various AKs

2. For the job (as fricked up as it is) it is nearly the perfect weapon. Widely available, highly customizable, reliable, easy to become proficient with, and just plain effective. While .223/5.56 would not be my choice for chambering (unless I had a cache of AP rounds) because outside of some better close combat full autos (FFL/Form 4) the AR platform is hard to beat. Therefore it is the choice of must of the POS mass shooters.

That makes no difference IRL since if you snapped your fingers and made every AR disappear there are plenty of other options to take its place.

Correct. And its the reason things will not get fixed. Well the mindset and the worthless politicians who are owned by special interest. If every congressional seat was voluntary and they had to campaign for these voluntary positions on their own nickel there would be more common sense government.

eh

i get it, this doesnt happen if the door is locked but i have a hard time putting all of this anger for someone who did something that 99.99999999999999999999% of the time causes absolutely no harm in any way, shape, or form

it was an honest mistake that the person will have to carry with for the rest of their lives

now the police on the other hand...

Agreed. Blaming this person is ridiculous

Yeah, I am sure that teacher feels beyond terrible, and I have a hard time placing much blame in that direction compared to the mentally ill frickead who shot and killed 21 people.

The weirdest thing to me about all of this is that a lot of teachers wont admit that the door should have been locked. It will be “we shouldn’t have to worry about this to begin with” or “kids shouldn’t be locked in a fortress”.

You know some dumbass teachers

No doubt you were on the damn phone when you went back inside therefore distracting your attention away from closing the door. Five seconds of inattentiveness created all this carnage.

This didn’t “create” the carnage. It played a role in facilitating it.

And…glad houses. You’ve probably been busy on the phone and forgot to do something that 99.9999% of the time is meaningless.

Shall not be infringed upon

The RIGHT to bear arms has nothing to do with hunting

And there it is. No one is saying the fault Is all on the teacher, but these same teachers lock their car doors at Walmart parking lots. So why the frick shouldn’t we lock the school doors?

I’m sure you’ve never missed locking a door before.

Unfortunately sounds like this persons going to agonize about it the rest of their life

There's more than one person to blame here. She deserves scrutiny also.

Considering the police are the ones saying this, the same police who have seemingly concocted 17 different versions of events, each trying to make themselves look better, I think I'll wait for the FBI's assessment before questioning what this teacher did, or didn't, do.

It’s an exceptionally good platform for nuisance control. I have 3 next to me right now.

With that being said, I’m perfectly fine with more regulations on purchases.
