I always thought his commercials were honest. And a free cup of coffee. Sad ??

RIP to a BR talk radio legend. We’ve lost Paul Harvey, Rush, and now Simple Simon.

I always appreciated his Memorial Day and Veterans Day messages. You could tell he was genuinely patriotic.

Sorry to hear that.....you don't expect to go that way at his age.

I think that section of Gurney road has mailboxes only on one side of the street.

Like a lot of suburban streets in EBR/Ascension/Livingston.....it's a rural two lane cross section with no shoulders and open ditches - but a lot more traffic in recent years. No lighting and potentially quite dangerous to get the mail early AM or evenings.

One of my fears is getting hit while getting the mail or attempting to handle lawn maintenance near the street at my house.

I live in that area. Walking on or by that road in the dark is a recipe for disaster. Like dewster said, no shoulder, deep ditches, and minimal lighting. Feel terrible for his family and for whoever the unfortunate person that hit him is.

A good man.

I was buying tires one Saturday morning at his location near Pecue , he gave everyone waiting hot biscuits and coffee.

At one time he had a location on the corner of Perkins and Staring Lane.

This WBRZ reporter is completely disrespecting this man. Look how awful she is at reporting on this and the camera man even zooms in on the body bag.
