Well just a year ago we watched a bunch of cops stand outside a classroom getting hand sanitizer while a gunman inside murdered all the kindergarteners, so not sure why this is surprising.

It’d be a different story if he was trying to get to a golf tournament.

Just mind blowing incompetence. This guy wasn’t even trying to be stealthy, he was clumsily inching his way on the roof with everyone seeing him and pointing him out. Anyone could have just engaged him and shot him from the ground.

He looked like my arse trying to sneak and shoot the skunk that's been around my place for a while. Hell, I think I looked more prepared.

Well I doubt anyone of us here knows exactly what happens on Secret Service presidential details, not to mention the fact that this wasn't a presidential security detail. It was detail for a former president, which I'm willing to bet doesn't get the assets of an actual Presidential detail.

As soon as he's nominated it will be a whole different level of security.
That being said. To not secure that position is a major WTF moment.

There’s pretty much no defending that. A 70 year old woman in that video spotted him but we have billions of dollars of intel and resources and couldn’t stop that moron.

It’s so bad I can begin to understand how people think trump was setup. There’s just no way that should happen.

Defund the police doesn’t sound as bad. Inexcusable to let that happen.

I'm not a crazy conspiracy theorist/in side job guy but at this point, all of the incompetence that had to occur for this to happen is honestly equally as hard to believe as it being an inside job.

I just can't possibly think the SS was just that incompetent to not secure arguably the most likely spot for something like this, for guns to be pointed at the shooter for upwards of a minute, and for random good citizens figuring out what was going on before SS did or could take action.

I'm not sure what would possibly be the plausible explanation even if the explanation is SS failed that would be remotely a believable scenario.

I’m 100% with you. But a 130 yard shot simply would never be missed by an inside job. Only thing that allows me to accept this is gross and absolute incompetence

That’s why the real pro smoked him from 488 yards…They simply don’t miss at these distances

Ask an actual special forces sniper if he would ever miss a head from only 130 yards

Most people already believe the JFK assasination was a conspiracy, but can you imagine if the Zapruder film showed multiple people pointing to the window at the book depository and telling the SS and police that a man with a rifle was there for 3 minutes before the motorcade arrived? There would be no more questioning it.

So, everyday ordinary citizens were doing the job of the Secret Service. And pro bono...

Of course not. It was a deliberate act by the shooter. Multiple people screwed up and miscommunicated leading to the confusion which resulted in the shooter being able to take a shot at Trump. If only one of those mistakes doesn't happen then they catch this guy before he's ever a threat.
But how is it even that one of, if not, the best vantage point to try something like that not fortified to the max so there's no chance in hell to dude with a gun could come within 100 feet of that building without it being known by multiple SS folks?

Because this is a completely different crowd and set of posters

Why do you think there is also a stickied thread here for general assassination attempt talk?

Because this is beyond politics, pretty simple.
