Why on earth hasn’t this come back?

The food sucked, the only reason they made it as long as they did was from post LSU game crowds

Is there a different ownership structure in Nola and BR?

Seems the Nola one has always done very well since the day it opened. One of the original owners seems to be divorced now. His ex is a pretty good looking dentist that I know.

Just passed Magazine location and a lot of the restaurants are prepping to open and Rum House is still closed up and nothing going on.

I would bet the rent in that location is massive and that the landlord feels confident they can fill the space later.

Well they declined to do pick up orders like everyone else during the shutdown. Superior set up a drive through. The quality of the food took a serious dive I noticed from their beginning. Same with BRQ. Don’t know if it was because of different staff or what.

IMO, if employees can file, collect unemployment then file and collect workers comp....businesses should be able to file an insurance claim for business interruption as well

On top of that the stimulus checks

Rum House is the poster child for “good for Baton Rouge, meh for New Orleans” phenomenon that includes other such luminaries as Superior Grill, Barcadia, and Lucy’s.

I wonder if this will adversely affect olive or twist’s business?

I could tell you what will eventually be their downfall, but I don’t want to get banned. They need to charge a cover and play some Chris Gaines.

they’ve been boarded up since this all began and haven’t been doing pick up or curbside

Well this seems like a surefire way to make you have to shut down your business. I know tons of people that were still doing takeout and curbside orders. Why couldn't they just staff for that?
