That’s an ongoing legal battle. IMO the insurers should be forced to pay if it incentivizes reopening.

Bailout. It’ll be much more efficient to pump them full of cash than it would be to pay every small business directly.

Especially if a place can prove that they completely shut down the entire time and took a major economic hit. Some places like Popeyes and fast food places didn’t miss a beat so they should not be able to collect business interruption insurance

That is literally House and Senate Law you're talking about. There is no chance anyone in Congress will die on that sword facing the American Insurance lobby. That's who we are as a country. Bought and paid for bullshite.

Just passed Magazine location and a lot of the restaurants are prepping to open and Rum House is still closed up and nothing going on.

The corridor between Kenilworth and Starring is a dead zone for restaurants. Nothing seems to last there.

That stretch of Magazine with Balcony Bar, Bulldog, Rum House, etc is not were tourists go. I'm not sure why any of them would go to that area to hang out if visiting new orleans

They have been closed for a over a month, you have to get staff and food on order to run a restaurant. If they are already in a huge hole, it makes no sense to order a bunch of product just to see how the weekend goes. Not to mention who knows what the rent was for that location if they even wanted to stretch it out a few more weeks

Red Dog has people working inside and cleaning equipment. Rum House will probably wait until they can open to fill capacity like a lot of other restaurants
