Aren't yall working from home indefinitely?

I went to a kroger in Uptown Dallas that boards on the window today.

Bout 5 mins from where than man was beaten damn near to death. Within a 20 minute trip the following exchanges happened between me, a conservative white dude, and various black people

1)helped an old lady whos buggy got stuck. She said thank you.
2)Said Who Dat to a guy in a saints shirt who pointed back at me and smiled
3)Had a conversation with my cashier when he mentioned Shreveport (where im from) to another cashier. He said he was from Nola and of course i dropped another Who Dat.
4) Made the kid in front me who was wilding out while his mom tried to scan groceries laugh and chill by making a funny face.

All in all a pleasant 20 minutes on this planet between human beings who happen to be of different various skin shades but have been told that they must be categorized into arbitrary racial buckets.

I was in line at a gas station in a Denver suburb buying beer around 11:30 today. A black man commented to me about how it looked like I had a good day in store. I joked that I did. That’s the story

For every one of these stories, I have one where I was picked after all the black guys in basketball

Sappy as it may sound, your story did my heart some good. Just had a long conversation in the car with my two oldest kids about what’s happening in the world right now because I know if I don’t set the tone, they could just as easily find themselves in that brainwashed crowd of college kids committing crimes and diluting a very real message.

The news shows us the 10%. The hate. Reality is, most of us, no matter our color, are just trying to live our lives and be good people. I just want my kids to make every interaction a positive one. Tracy lived that out with you today. Thank you for sharing.
