Will Trump start a heel spurs rule?

how do you think they will react when they have grenades going off in their face and see people getting blown up? They’ll let their emotions get the best of them and they’ll get their entire fricking platoon killed.
I was going to respond to this earlier but didn't have the time.
You simply never know how someone is going to react until the moment arrives.
I had a 60 gunner who was exactly what you wanted in a gunner. He was well over 6 feet and built like a young Arnold. He lived in the weight room and carried a 60 and ammo like it was made of foam. He was Ranger qualified and knew his battle drills like the back of his hand. Before seeing combat I would have killed for a platoon filled with his type. In his first experience in combat he completely shut down.
On the opposite end, I had a private with I shite you not the last name Weakly. He was the living embodiment of his last name. 5'7" skinny as a rail and rocking BCGs. I never saw him as anything but a place holder. When the 60 gunner clammed up I watched him sprint over and slide into the spot beside the gunner grab the 60 and started laying down suppressive fire like he knew what he was doing. The ammo bearer muct have thought he was in a glitch in the matrix because it took him a few seconds to react when the first belt was exhausted.
The gunner went on to be a fine soldier under fire but that episode cemented the idea about books and covers.

Most of the people I went to school with that went into the military were jokesters and screw offs that either didn't have the will or aptitude to go to college.
Most turned out to be some of the best people on earth. It still amazed and humbles be to have seen how selfless they were.
Godspeed brother..

I had the aptitude but I didn't have the will. I got a 99 on the AFQT and my brother is a patent attorney.
I grew up as a proud American, played HS football and had an inkling that I would be good at fighting and doing things others couldn't or wouldn't.
I was right and I was damn good at fighting an Abrams tank.

With that being said, we do have some weirdos that join with 99 ASVABS but they’re usually your IT or Nuke types.
Speaking as a 95 ASVAB USAF satellite comms guy, you're wrong. We were mobile comms...the fit nerds that threw the best parties in the dorms.

I was a 99 AFQT that was shooting, moving and communicating on a 72 ton killing machine.
I wouldn't have traded it for any other MOS.
Enlisted in 95 and did over 20.

Enlisted in 94, but only did my 4 and jumped for the private sector.
Nice career, dude, and congrats on your retirement!

Weird, when I was in, we had a guy who received an article 15 just because he told a girl she looked nice. Someone tried to file a sharp complaint on him

Ok but is it fiscally feasible?
Especially the men who want to become women, the physical transition phase has to not only alter your hormones but also had to decrease your bone density leading to more injuries

They also have to be on a hormone regimen for life. The taxpayers should pay for that ?
My sister retired from VA in Seattle, they had quite a few vets coming in to transition to female.I don’t remember exactly how much it cost but it wasn’t cheap and it’s for life.
She also said very few actually go through with getting their genitals amputated.

they dont care, they just want the votes.
there is not a single logical reason that trannies should be allowed in the military, let alone have their entire care bankrolled. not one. but here we are.

It's comical that guys are in here using Trump in the same sentence as heroes in the US Military. Ol draft dodging "bone spurs" bitch.
The OT never disappoints with the stupidity.

One of my closest friends in HS decided to enlist which honestly I thought it was a waste of talent at the time but he ended up as a 68W in the 2nd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment. He did his time, deployed during ODS and got out went on to school and is a Pediatric Oncologist in Chicago now. He just needed some time to focus himself.
I think one thing people miss in this thread is the quality of especially enlisted recruits is cyclical. Post Vietnam in general recruits were weak because of the pall that hung over service. One has to remember that is the military the went into Iraq and outpaced even the most optimist expectations. As a result of being welcomed home and not being spit on and called baby killers the quality of recruits went up and saw another increase with the patriotism brought about as a result of 9/11. GWOT went on so long without defined goals retention and recruit quality and quantity waned this only gets worse when we have no war. It just is what it is.

I realize this helps a lot of you feel confident that things will go back to normal and helps you sleep at night, but what we are seeing now is different than what the military has been through ever. We are talking about an entire culture shift of the military from the top.

Try having served in the early 80s. I watched a video of a platoon "marching" in the last couple of years and couldn't believe my eyes! I always think of the DI that told a complaining mother that her son didn't know what stress is. Stress is sitting in a foxhole with your buddy next to you with his brains and guts blown out.Apparently she had contacted them because the son was telling her on the phone that he was stressed out from the training.
