Original owners invented their own snowball machine and the ice comes out like freshly fallen snow.
They have exotic flavors and cost more than regular snowball stands.
That being said, there are snowball stands in the area that have been around forever:
Plum Street in NO and Sal's and Casey's in Metairie just to name a few.

$11 for 3 snowballs is dirt cheap compared to Austin. Most stands are $4 or $5 for a small. It’s $7 for a medium at my favorite stand. Used to be $3 for a medium about 10-15 years ago which I was fine with.

I bought two in Mardi gras cups for $5 a piece, but we were ok Magazine Street, so I knew going in I was getting fleeced.
