KLFY talked to the Chairman of the Louisiana Gaming Control Board, Ronnie Jones, in an interview about the possible opening of casinos in Louisiana. Casinos have been completely closed since mid-March, meaning not only have they lost millions in revenue, but the state of Louisiana has lost big as well.

According to the interview with Jones, assuming the numbers continue to flatten, casinos could be opened back up as soon as Memorial Day weekend. The only difference is that there will be guidelines placed on the casinos' gambling floors.

Jones says that the floors that are typically packed with gamblers will need to operate under reduced capacity based on the percentage of their normal capacity. The idea is to continue social distancing on the floors. Employees will need to wear masks while working, and spacing between table games and slot machines will need to be put in place.

Will they have Gestapo out to enforce the reduced capacity?

This has become as meaningless as racist.

Surprised the ones owned by the tribes have not re-opened. Technically they're independent nations.

If it wouldn't absolutely kill our state financially, I’d prefer they never reopened.

It will be amusing to see someone someone “social distancing” at a slot machine with a protective mask on while chain smoking.

Its similar to "but the death toll is rising!!!!111@!!!", whenever there is no possible scenario where the number of deaths would decrease.

Plus if COVID is spread in one to white people it could be good payback for the Smallpox blankets we gave their ancestors. Win, win IMO.

I love that this has become the "no taxation without representation" of the COVID crisis

Some people are still against gambling for moral and Christian reasons.

Others think it increases crime despite the fact that the taxes help fund more law enforcement.

Moral crusaders. Some think Casinos exploit the poor, some think gambling is a sin.
