The flashpoint in any conflict is rarely the most obscene injustice, but often the most obviously incomprehensible. Once government oversteps their authority with something so completely inexplicable and indefensible, they lose legitimacy fast. An illegitimate Government is an ignored government. Ignored governments act out with increasing harshness for attention like a toddler throwing a tantrum. This has the opposite effect and turns people from ignoring the government to abjectly defying it. That’s where this is going if these governments don’t start backing down big time.

They're trashy and add nothing to our culture. I'd be fine with one upscale casino resort in NOLA, catering to a high end clientele. That's how it was sold to Louisiana to get casino gambling legalized. Unsurprisingly, it quickly became something else. I wouldn't ban them, but I sure wouldn't shed any tears if they went out of business.

Those fire code restrictions were known when the casino was designed so they adjusted their floor space for the amount of guests needed to generate a profit. Adjusting anything beyond that hurts the business and is very draconian.
