Can you imagine his reaction when they went in for deliberations and he hit them with “alright guys this should be easy we’re all in agreement here that’s she’s guilty of murder, right?” And they all stared at him like he was an alien.

I'd be willing to bet there were multiple guilty votes initially, then some of those gave in and voted not guilty after they got tired of being there. But some dude stood strong and stuck to his principles

There’s many people who don’t believe that mental illness is a true sickness.Thats not saying she shouldn’t pay for what she did.If any of you have suffered with depression you know that mental illness is real.I have and unless you’ve been there you have no clue how it effects you thought processes,no clue at all.Should she be punished yes was she in her right mind no.Do any of you have elderly parents who don’t act mentally like they used to,don’t know their own children etc. that the brain malfunctioning.We know more about the heart,kidneys,liver,bones ,but not much about the brain.Its sad society has so little compassion about some suffering from post Partom depression.

I can't tell if this is a troll post
But I'll say:
- Our entire culture and society has committed itself to therapy speak in all areas of life, and the idea that we don't pay attention to/have sympathy for/etc. female mental health issues is beyond insane
- I don't care if you're insane if you chase down and strangle your children. Imagine her children being hunted in their own home by their mother. She should be executed, obviously, regardless of her mental state. In lieu of that, life imprisonment.
This is a black/white test for normal human beings in 2026.

Andrea Yates killed her Children in Texas. That’s pretty much the only legal difference

Also my opinion has changed on this after finding out that she can walk free out of the mental facility based on an annual evaluation’s results. That shouldn’t be a possibility in this case. She needs to be locked away permanently, wherever it is

I have depression and anxiety, and have been through the lowest of the lows. Not once have I ever had an overwhelming desire to kill my own kids.

The defense attorney, both in court and with even worse rhetoric outside court, is viciously attacking this one juror. I mean, beyond what should be acceptable for an attorney. Are attorney's allowed to verbally attack a juror after a case is over? Just seems like grounds for disbarment.
Say something violent happens to this guy, I would have to think the defense attorney is going to have one hell of a civil lawsuit against him. He's basically begging someone to 'punish' this juror.
Completely unacceptable it seems to me.

I was predicting a hung jury but I thought it would be the opposite, with the big majority convicting and a few holdout crazies trying to set her free.

And she was found not guilt by reason of insanity (after retrial) and is in a nuthouse. Pretty much what I was expecting

Progressive ideology is a substitute for religion to these people. Thus, disagreements become heresy and people become apostasy. There's no compromising with fundamentalists.
