Anti-drone technology will be a fast growing industry.
The tech is already available:
No, sadly, it's not. Drones come in all shapes and sizes, from hyperfast and maneuverable ones that you'd never get off a shot at in time to high altitude missile trucks that you'll never even see. Directed energy systems, mini-CIWS, and EM are about what we have to work with. All of it will have to be semi-autonomous, or perhaps even fully autonomous.

Check out the subreddit /r/donecombat

We've basically reached the point where drones and robots are fighting the war.

Next itll be AI pilots directing swarms and the only thing on the battlefield will have to be hardened armed robots.

I wonder if directed EMP fields are feasible.
Something like that going on in this Marines commercial. Drone part starts at 20 seconds.

It always comes down to boots on the ground eventually

Was that directed by Michael Bay

Getting to that point is going to be butt ugly. Drones will keep getting smaller, longer ranged, more autonomous and more deadly.
What happens when they are the size of a hummingbird and lethal? A fly?
Some ultra serious electronic area denial has to happen to cover the boots on the ground.

Do we not have the technology to jam the signals of these things? Seems that would be a reasonable way to defend against them.

How do you stop a wave of thousands upon thousands of attack drones?
The terrifying this is that you really can’t. If you have followed this war closely one of the things that has come from it is Russia has adapted to using swarms of cheap Iranian drones to do preliminary attacks on targets. The AA in the area then expends it’s ammo taking down these cheaper drones with the Russians then following up with their main attack once all ammo has been expended. Hezbollah has been copying these tactics in Israel as well.
Western tech is good but it’s incredibly expensive and is currently unable to keep up with the attrition rate from these wave of swarm attacks. Now let’s imagine all of these Chinese drones swarming a carrier fleet expensing valuable ammunition then the Chinese following up with their real attack. That’s the terrifying reality of this new type of warfare.

So back to the old... "Try to look unimportant, they might be low on drones"

I'm just dumbfounded that jamming technology isn't being used yet against those things.
Anytime you fly a drone out off of the mississippi coast if you get too close to the Air base it completely shuts down.
Same thing when the president is traveling,
The technology is there.

That's what I was asking above. I was under the impression that jamming technology existed and if so why wouldn't it be used. ?

This was predicted by Daniel Suarez in the book Kill Decision a long time ago.
This was predicted by the Terminator. Complete denial of ground to any humans is already here. Object recognition is already being used to take over drone control once a target is spotted. This was done since trying to hit a moving target is difficult. I would think the next step is drones hunting people as a swarm or pack. You could geofence an area and have a drone pack eliminate any human they detect in the area. If you want skynet, this is how you get skynet.

Because it isnt widely available, probably difficult to operate and difficult to field.

A microwave without a door works pretty well for most RC things

Crazy stuff. Really asymmetrical. And for those who are most inventive, they will just come up with clever and more lethal stuff. Imagine 100 of those arriving at an aircraft carrier at one time. And the Ukrainians are using, I think, Australian technology to fly in cardboard drones which are essentially radar undetectable.
