Well Cummins made that 5.0 V8 diesel so you just be sure to tell the engineers you know better than they do. Oh, and Ford uses the same SAE test standards as GM, Toyota, Nissan, Dodge, etc. so it seems your point here isn't legit.

Apparently they are better than the other majors because they are the only one that makes their own in house diesel engine

Navistar/international made them for Ford in the past and struggled with the emission standards, which many did, so now Ford makes their own

You do realize they count every F series truck to claim the "best selling" title right, not just F-150's.

Let me know when the big fleets are all using V series diesel engines.
About the numbers, I'm saying they don't express the capability of the truck. Peak torque is not the same as consistency across a range of rpm's etc. Ford builds their engines so they optimize torque but over a narrower range and you have to induce a high strain on the engine from a stop, in order to get it up that steep torque curve. Let me know when you understand things like entropy.

Allison is the most trusted transmission, Cummins the most trusted engine. Ford isn't known as Fix or Repair Daily for nothing. Go change a simple part like a water pump on a Cummins then the same on a DuraMax or Ford. Things like that will tell you which one was engineered better. Also, Cummins will get about 90% of the HP and 93% of the torque of a Ford, on 6 rather than 8 cylinder, and has about half the number of moving parts, with longer stroke, wider bore, and so forth.

Sorry you're so butthurt but Ford's diesel engines are horrible. When they first got rid of the International engine there was a huge backlash from long time Ford drivers. Dealerships were telling owners that losing a quart of oil per week was normal and all sorts of stuff. Ford has made improvements but they are still behind the DuraMax and way behind Cummins. Again, Ford builds their engines for the dyno charts, for their commercials, for ignorant rednecks to jaw about while drinking cheap beer and sitting on their Yeti cooler.

Find me any threads with any kind of quantity where the 6.7 diesel in a non-commercial truck is s having any kind of significant issues. There are very few catastrophic failures. I know this for a fact as I have very recently researched this,

Can you prove differently?

While the Cummins is durable as hell, it is a loud motor that has been choked by emissions regulations. It will also rattle your teeth out.
The Duramax Alllison combos are excellent, but GM switchgear and interior bits are still a concern.

Resale values also prove my point. A five year-old F250 KR 6.7,with normal miles, will still bring $40-45K. A Ram won't bring anywhere near that.
If the 6.7 was a dog used values would plummet. That hasn't been the case.

My knowledge is fresh, as I've researched all this over the past week.

I'm not brand loyal in the least.
I know values and I know bullshite when I hear it.

Saying the Ford 6.7 is terrible and the Cummins is great is crazy. You can buy the Ram for $10-15K less. If the Ford was "terrible" everyone would know it by now.

Unfortunately they spend all their money on gold plated tow mirrors rather than buying the best tranny currently in a truck...

Toyota figured out years ago that it's cheaper to have aisin make you a bulletproof transmission.
