I worked at this McD’s for about three months back in 1985. Probably the worst and hardest job I ever had. It was slave labor at $3.35 an hour, and the worked the dog shite out of you.

Back in the day, it only had one entrance on Perkins. The gas station on the corner was also a service station, so they had a huge lot of cars waiting to be worked on. It was located where the driveway is now to College Dr

Have you been to the country in VA?

Just give it time. You'll see.

I think it's just that a lot of us remember B.R. 20, 30, 40+ years ago and make comparisons. I liked growing up in B.R. but glad I don't live there now.

I have not, I haven't had the need to. I came here for the LSU v. Tenn basketball game this past year with my pops... the bottoms mirrored their name. But every city has their blight areas. So far I have had a positive experience and the food has been wonderful.

That Subway was pretty ragged out too, think it closed recently-ish

It is back open. I only know because they have a massive “reopening” sign out.

I always thought that was the oddest Subway building as well.

Fair enough, I feel the same way when I go home to see my parents. And I do recognize I see BR through a different lens than those who have been here a long time.

I will not go to that MFER. I will go to Gonzales or Sorrento or back to Siegen Lane before going to that piece of shite McDonalds ever again.

Head to the north end of BR and get back to us

I’ve lived here for 19 years and haven’t needed to go to Plank Rd ever. I’m happy enough here. But I feel like I could be happy most places, so my bar might be low.

NBR is definitely a dump but most of SBR is fine. The OT loves to exaggerate everything.

I think it was probably the first one he built.

There was an old one on Florida Blvd, built in the original Golden Arches building style, that I believe predated him taking over the franchises in the BR area.

Florida and Sharp, I think. Didn't have indoor seating, was the old walk-up style. I remember the arches.
