I love the fact that it's pretty much unchanged. I used to go to birthday parties in a back room they had there in the 70s. Ronald McDonald cake with the little ice cream cups and wooden paddle spoons (this was before they even had non-working soft serve machines) for the fricking win.

frick everyone of you assholes who thinks you should be able to hold up Perkins traffic to make your left turn out of that McDonald's as if you are at a 4way stop. You didn't have to get an egg mcmuffin and hashbrowns that badly did you?

Also, it may be the most rundown location, but go to the one on Bluebonnet/Burbank if you want to meet the most Run Down employees.

I have only lived in Baton Rouge for a month or so, but it does not seem like the complete rundown shitehole people make it out to be. Yes, traffic is abysmal, but overall this place isn't too bad. Besides education, Virginia isn't much better/different from here.

That's far more of an indictment on Virginia than a compliment to BR

That Subway was pretty ragged out too, think it closed recently-ish.

Wasn't there a jukebox or something in there before? I think I remember seeing one when I was a kid back around '99-'01.

My dad took us there from Village St George as it was the closest one in the early 80s. My dad and brother and I would go early Sunday mornings and get hot cakes and sausage. We'd sit at the outdoor tables out front of the store. There was no drive around the front like there is now.
You can kind of see why it's still an oddly designed front facing Perkins.

It may be a shithole now but that's some great childhood memories for me everytime I pass it.

I moved to Baton Rouge in July of 2011. I don't know when the ice cream machine there broke but I do know it was before that.
