The latest USAF iteration of the infamous Skyraider is a souped up crop duster

Built on a base model of the Air Tractor, it appears to be armored and well armed with missiles, rockets, and bombs.

My Dad had a ton of hours in the original Skyraider - even dropped a test nuke from one. This is from the early years of his flying them. Later, the planes were dark blue/black (can't tell as it is a B and W photo) and were "special weapons" planes.

know a few guys at work that have taken leaves to go fly those things, most of them were large modified crop dusters, some of them flew a sort of AWACS type King Air

Regarding CAS: I'm assuming the OA-1K is being positioned to replace the A-10?
I know A-10 was extended through 2030, but the OA-1K has to be cheaper than the 50+ year old airframe.

Early skyraiders were overall Gloss Sea Blue. In the 60's the USN went light gull grey over white for all birds.
