So you’re saying loyal readers stopped reading the Amazing Spider-Man because a separate comic exists?
No, they stopped reading over the years, and as sales show, the rate to which people have stopped reading appears to have sped up as the wokeness sped up.

It is one of the reasons that the entire top book sales list is almost entirely made up of manga.

They all moved to manga.

Apparently one fan created it.
And that didn't stop you from intentionally being deceptive in your thread title calling it the "latest Spider-Man"

1 random person did this with no affiliation to the Spiderman brand, but WE NEED TO TALK ABOUT IT!!!

However, one of the best Spidersonas was created by Dayna Broder, who made Sun-Spider, a disabled hero who uses crutches when in costume, and an ambulatory wheelchair when not suited up. Now, Sun-Spider will star in her own story.

They created a comic line about her.

This wasn’t some online fan story.

Marvel has a history of doing stupid shite to try and bring in new fans which chases off the existing fans.

The “FightBolts” version of Thunderbolts, the Clone Saga of Spider-Man, the Brand New Day story of Spider-Man, and Captain America - Member of Hydra all come to mind.

“FightBolts” bombed so badly that they killed the book then revived it a while later as New Thunderbolts.

Clone Saga raised book sales of Spidey for a while but the total lack of any solution to the story helped kill the book for years as it dug its way out of the mess.

Brand New Day was a similar mess but caused because Marvel head Joe Quesada hated Mary Jane Watson and had MJ and Spidey sell their marriage to Mephisto (the main Devil of the Marvel universe) to save Spidey’s Aunt May.

HydraCap was caused by a Cosmic Cube retroactively turning the all-American hero, Cap, into a member of Hydra, which was effectively the Nazis.

I don’t think any of this brought people in long term but helped kill interest in the existing fan base for a number of reasons.

sigh

I miss the good ol' days of plain, straight-up, angst-ridden teen Peter Parker.

This isn’t replacing Spider-Man.

Your reading comprehension is shite. Don't be so emotional about it and you'll understand. The "loyal readers" I was referring to were mainstream comics (Marvel & DC) readers in general. Do you disagree that a lot of them have left?

Just because you are emotionally invested in it, doesn't make my point wrong.

I wasn't familiar with the whole Spider-verse, which is separate from the Amazing Spiderman. Spider-verse are a bunch of alternative versions of Spiderman. Not sure why this is a big deal.

There are probably people who like the Amazing Spiderman but not a fan of Spider-verse and vice versa.

How am I a bigot jackass? I don't read comic books, I am just curious as to why people get triggered by this stuff.

Oh I don't know. You don't believe men can be lesbians. A lot of people tolerate your bigotry on here, but it's a bridge too far for me.

Why didn't they also make her a minority?

If they had also added she was aJewish Eskimo that would have been epic.

A true unicorn in the super hero universe.

Yeah, it's not like Marvel retconned a character with a half century of history just so they could say they have a prominent gay character.

Or tried to push a whole woke team.

Or tried to Mary Sue a border-crossing lesbian from two mothers into their universe.

Yep, it was just that one time with that one random person.

I'm assuming you don't know that the growth is due to Manga. I know it's already been stated in the thread, but I figured I'd mention it again.

Wait...do definitions matter again or are they still "fluid"?
