I was in the service with a guy from Long Island and to this day he is the most racist guy I’ve ever known. Maybe racism isn’t limited to geographical regions and is rooted in the individual.

He’s a prison warden in Texas now

You probably can't understand them.

Why is the fact that you build shitty housing relevant to anything in this thread?

I agree that racism isn’t dependent on geographical location but it plays a part on how apparent it can be.

Maybe, just maybe different ethnic groups have different cultures and don’t necessarily have to be forced to mix. “Birds of the same feather flock together”, doesn’t mean we have to hate each other but also don’t force people to adhere to certain groups just to make them feel better.

fun fact - some of the absolute most racist people you will encounter is in the Midwest and NE US

Absolutely true. Midwest people in places like Iowa and Nebraska are extremely racist and rarely interact with black people because there aren’t any up there.

Boston is infamous for being a racist city also.

The south has a much different approach and is much more phony about it. This is because people in the south have to interact with blacks way more than other regions. I still think there’s less racism in the south overall though.

"The North doesn't bring it up because they don't have to deal with it"? Funny that all the major race riots occurred in Detroit, Boston, Chicago, St. Louis, Wisconsin, Philly, etc. Name one city in the South that has had a major riot. And Atlanta is no longer "in the South".

I have a 'friend' who is from Iowa and works at one of the refineries near the Sunshine Bridge. He came to see the Mardi Gras and never left. He is racists to the Max. He tells me that there aren't many blacks in Iowa. He professes that all blacks are idiots and he hates all of them. His wife left him and returned to iowa.

I have it on the Paul Finebaum show. Some Iowa fan just called in all worked up wanting to know why is everyone picking on Caitlyn Clark.. Its pretty funny because they really are upset about the whole thing.

I’m fairly well traveled and without question have seen more overt racism in the Northeast, Midwest, and Pacific Northwest, in that order, than in the South.

Sorry bud but ATL is the damn capitol of the south. Culturally. Geographically. Economically. Every which way.

I agree 100%. I like the cultural differences from block to block in big cities (I.e. Chinatown, Little Italy, Germantown, etc). Some of those places thrive more than they would in a forced mix.

I’ll take it a step further. If Billy Jack doesn’t like black people, that’s ok. If he isn’t forced by laws to be around any POC and doesn’t spew racial slurs, is it a big deal? Some blacks don’t want to be around whites. I’m sure Hispanics enjoy their tight knit communities.

I think the forced mix has actually made racial tension worsen.

Only people who live in the ATL metro area, or outside of the South entirely, think this.

I don’t live there and never have. It’s just common knowledge. Sorry if you don’t believe black culture influences the south.

Who said anything that disagreed with that statement? Are you dumb enough to believe that black culture is derived or somehow dictated from Atlanta?

Because our govt subsidizes the poor for having more kids while taxing the middle and upper middle classes along with other policies that destroy the middle class.

Simply put, only the wealthy and really poor can afford a lot of kids. Wealthy are usually too focused on their businesses to deal with numerous kids, middle class can’t afford more than one or two, and the poor have as many as they want because it brings more money.

If Govt would limit additional benefits to no more than 2 kids that would stop. No extra child tax credits or food stamps after 2.
