Was in Japan for 10 days a few years ago, when it was the country's national holiday. A large part of that is visiting the many Buddhists' shrines around the county; literally saw thousands & thousands of the locals. The number of fat...not obese, fat...Japanese I could count on both hands, at most. Their diet is 100% different / better than ours & their life expectancy is almost 10 yrs longer. Bikes were ridden everywhere, all ages. One stark example of the difference in diets was that I saw no....zero...bread in any of the restaurants. Little to very very few smokers. The kids in particular were all slender to skinny.

Japan's version of social welfare programs is paying people to work. Can't find a job? Govt will give you one, painting, street sweeping, picking up trash, anything. No one gets paid to sit on their arse.

I would like to see the pictures of starving American kids that look like the starving African kids I saw growing up in the 80’s and 90’s. Outside of children that rely on a POS that doesn’t give a shite, how many Americans are actually starving to death?

Takes lots of hunger to get that big.

It is rare but there are people that eat right but still can't lose weight. Sometimes it's portions, sometimes it's being too sedentary, and there are other factors such as thyroid problems.

Are you saying big girls don’t get hongry?

Lots of people acting like her cart isn’t that unhealthy but ignoring the two big boxes of cereal, the juice, and the canned fruit and veggies. All those carbs and sugars ain’t getting erased by that carrot.

I don’t like plastic bags.
Why? Even if you don’t like them, it’s better than all the nastiness from a buggy, a conveyor belt, and the cashier, and eventually gets put in a plastic bag anyway, unless you’re one of those that brings their own reusable shopping bags.
