HOW? Many people are like me and live in subdivisions that are high up surrounded by low lying roads. I have been stranded in my house since yesterday morning. I have a boat and a canoe if the worst came but for most people they simply cannot leave as they were trapped when the first downpour started.

Exactly. I want my parents to come stay here so badly, but there is quite literally no way out of Central.

Yeah, my family is out of their flooded house, but they are now driving around Livingston Parish trying to find a way out of the parish that's not flooded. Every time they think they've found a clear road on Waze or Google Maps or DOTD, it ends up being closed.

Drone footage of I-12 between Range and O'Neal on The Weather Channel now.

The barrier is acting like a levee. Two lanes open east bound, no lanes open west bound unless you hug the median. I've never seen that bridge flood - and the new, expanded bridge is a good 5-6' higher than the one it replaced in 2011.
