It looks like early this afternoon that the system will start to make a more western route. A bit of relief for the BR area but will be real bad for Laffy and west if there.

I hear you brother...very true.

It's just surreal watching this on tv...trying to sympathize while thinking this would never happen to me. The hell if it didn't. There will be a lot of people in my shoes.

Yea, it kind of drifts northward today but that leaves S. Louisiana in the favored zone for heavy rainfall. It finally starts to lift off to the NW then NE as we head into tomorrow.

Lots of water in ditches and yards in Thinodaux, and the bayou is high, but nothing like what you guys have. I'm not sure if our topography allows for that kind of widespread flooding

Good lord. Even if it only ends up being half that, this is unreal.

Yea, it looks really bad no matter how you slice it. My family has already lost a couple of homes, trying to find a ray of hope somewhere. Even the latest short range models are showing another 6-10" today.

So, any idea on how much more rain for just north of BR? I'm getting concern now.

Been at work since 5PM in New Iberia and will probably not be able to get home in Lafayette.

You're not getting back to Lafayette. My Dad came to my house is south Lafayette yesterday to help and has been stuck here ever since. He can't get back to NI.

yeah I'm in S.BR and not in any immediate danger but could be impacted if bayou fountain overflows. sewers are already backed up and gushing water back into the streets. i hope rain backs off a bit bc if not there could be some trouble.

I don't think we will get 15-20 more inches of rain. I would think more along the lines of 3-5 inches.

I don't see how. Hwy 14 and US 90 are closed in multiple locations.

Per WAFB, Fountain Bayou rising fast so homes around staring/burbank are in a rising risk of flooding.

Also that area where Dawson Creek meets Staring is apparently horribly flooded.

My dad just texted me that our elevation is 40ft and we were 2.6 miles from the creek I'm thinking we will be good but I am still unsure.
