I've used Biggz several times and I've always been happy with him.
He won't cut down live oaks though.

re: Which F150 engine?
Posted by liveoaks on 1/21/21 at 10:58 pm to Eli Goldfinger
The 5.0 is the correct answer, with caveats.
The 3.5 is a little better for towing and normal driving due to the low end torque. But the extra complexity and generally poor design of the engine means much higher maintenance costs and issues over time.
If you're the type of person who only owns a new vehicle for a few years and then trades it in for something new, then the 3.5 could work for you. It might even be the right answer if you tow a lot.
Anyone who wants to own the truck more than 5 years or 100k miles should stick with the 5.0.
If you want to read tons of horrifying stories about the 3.5, search "cam phaser" on any Raptor forum. Its definitely not just one or two of these engines having issues.

re: Recommendations needed for front load washer and dryer
Posted by liveoaks on 10/6/20 at 10:33 am to Mike da Tigah
I bought a speed queen front loading washing machine a couple years ago. It works great. You do have to run it once a week or so or it starts to smell like mildew. (normally not a problem, but when you get home after a long vacation its gross. I run an empty cycle with some bleach and that cleans it up.)
After living with it, I don't see any advantage to front load and will go back to top load if this one ever dies.

How do we get Reed back in his truck? Dude has had the best stream by far until he abandoned it.
re: OT PHOTOGRAPHERS: Sony, Canon, or Nikon? Help me pick a new camera
Posted by liveoaks on 4/9/20 at 9:20 pm to Vincent van Goat
Your budget is way too low for most of the cameras being discussed here. It sounds like your main use will be still product photography of your art. If so, then I suggest a tripod, a backdrop, and good lighting in addition to a camera. The camera should be used, which really means Canon or Nikon (the largest and deepest used markets).
Some good deals can be found on facebook marketplace, but also some scams. KEH.com is a great site for used equipment at a good price.
Most people are talking about mirrorless full frame, but a crop sensor DSLR with a budget/ kit lens will take photos with quality far exceeding what people will see on their phones when looking at your website. The main advantage of full frame over crop sensor is low light. For product photography that doesn't matter.
I don't have much experience with video, but again I think if you really want to get into that the microphones, lighting, video editing computer and software, etc is going to blow up your budget.
For a lightweight, easy to use system that's affordable and does everything - you are not going to beat your iphone. (amazing things can be done with a phone, good lighting, and editing software)

Rumors are now breaking that a Chinese passenger flying
Delta DL88 from Shanghai that landed in LAX tonight was ill/vomiting and was transported via ambulance upon landing.
If this is true, there will be video of it all over the internet.
Wow, just read this whole thread. Awesome story! Wishing the best for the Honks. Definitely let us know if we can send you anything while you're on lock-down.
I worked on a proposal for the SWB back after Katrina to upgrade the pumps and increase reliability.
It was obvious to everyone who looked at the system that they need to upgrade the system to 60Hz. However, the SWB has a culture that puts a huge amount of pride in having a "unique" system.
They don't want to hear that their unique system costs more, takes longer to repair, and is less reliable than if they switched over to what everyone else uses.

Dawson Creek at Balis Dr has been falling very slowly for the past 24 hours. No discernible flow.
Bayou Duplainer at Lee has held steady at about the same level for the past 24 hours. Can't see any flow.
Bayou Fountain at Lee has fallen about 1 inch in the last 24 hours. Flooding in the Winn Dixie parking lot has gone down by about that amount. Something I don't understand though is that the sewer manhole covers on Highland at Lee have been leaking water for the past 24 hours. Yesterday it was just a tiny trickle of water. As of 15 minutes ago, water is shooting out of the manhole covers about 3 inches into the air.
Those manhole covers on Highland are 5 to 10ft higher than the water level in Bayou Fountain. Not sure why they have pressure on them like that.
