Yes Wawa but what I'm saying is that the major difference is Clay Cut feeds into a river that is currently falling while Ward feeds into a river currently rising.

I drove down Corporate yesterday and it was dry as a bone.

That's surprising considering it floods in a moderate storm.

We decided to wait. The only issue I had was work tomorrow. I am inclined to believe that Ascension schools will be closed tomorrow with the current state of the area and EBR schools closing until further notice.

Our pond in Briarwood, which drains into ward creek rose all night, very very slowly.
The ditches and culverts are full, and the drainage area between briarwood and woodridge has very very slowly filled, but can handle a lot more water.

The water hadn't really risen much if any since 7am but it sure hasn't gone down at all.

You realize that they both enter the amite right? their entrance to the amite is only like 2 miles apart. It doesn't matter that it is in Manchac

If ward's creek is still rising, it is likely from some other reason than backflow or its the tail end of backflow given what is happening in claycut.

a lot can happen in 2 miles.

rivers with curves are very unpredictable with water flow. especially when they are over their banks.

They shouldn't. No reason to put that many people on the road just yet. People will still be without power and bathrooms for a few days.

I got downvoted into oblivion for this yesterday for saying people were just being moronic for either not leaving because they didn't want to leave their pets or trying to bring multiple pets with them.

Pets are resource hogs. People should understand that in these times and not burden other people with them if they can't get them out themselves.

Anyway, I just hope people are safe

That was yesterday afternoon, now.

Pelican Lakes is dry, but the lake took over the roadway.

I have a hard time believing any types of schools in EBR will open back up until at least a day after water is gone from I-10 & I-12

Anyone know how to get a boat to the end of Ravenwood in the Gálvez area?

Some people were in their attic at last check in and haven't gotten in touch.

Im just trying to give you an optimistic perspective

The bayou leading into the amite at the top of the picture feeds clay cut
The bayou right below that entering the amite is bayou manchac

So if it is falling at claycut, it chould be falling at bayou manchac soon

And while i think the water over I-10 increased overnight, I don't think it is still increasing

furthermore that picture of bayou fountain looks almost exactly the same from yesterday

Does anyone know if the Apartments on the south side of I12 at Millerville are reachable? Or if they currently have power (Demco)?

this would be easy to believe if we had more elevation changes. the fact that we are so flat its hard to tell where the water is going. the amite is so far out its banks it kinda changes things. just some perspective.

Nurse, I work close to the Torrey pines park..... Water had receded a lot and this area should be completely drained by this evening. The corner of old Hammond and O'Neal is still holding some water.

water in westhaven is actually rising even though BF is flowing the right direction. How can this be? Its not going up by much maybe 1/4th of an inch in 2hrs but still going up.
