I'm curious as to why I-10 hast been affected by wards creek at all but 2 days ago it was. Even though the water is higher in briarwood. Super got any insight?

LSU needs to make up their minds either way. Getting into BR is too much of a cluster frick right now to get in on a short whim.

Briarwood. Here house sits on the pond and the water line has been rising up towards her house today.

Nurse, I work close to the Torrey pines park..... Water had receded a lot and this area should be completely drained by this evening. The corner of old Hammond and O'Neal is still holding some water.
Thank you so much for the update.

There's no need to argue with Wawa, honestly I am quite surprised by what I am hearing about Ward Creek rising. Wish I could get someone out to look at the apartments on Siegen - them flooding is a really good way to gauge Ward. I would have thought the water would be perminantly going down by now but the only reason I mentioned it is because a bunch of OTers said it was going up. How's Santa Maria right now anyway?

Heading out. Will report back on Siegen/Highland, Burbank/Bluebonnet and Wards creek at Siegen.

Working today so I can't follow like I'd want to, does the bayou Paul stuff have any chance of causing any problems to the harveston/fairhill/Springlake area?

I10 is currently shut down because Manchac is high. It's rising about an inch or two an hour. Should crest soon though.

water in westhaven is actually rising even though BF is flowing the right direction. How can this be? Its not going up by much maybe 1/4th of an inch in 2hrs but still going up.
its crazy. or that trolling motor i have plugged into the bridge on bluebonnet is holding back the flow from coming upstream

this would be easy to believe if we had more elevation changes. the fact that we are so flat its hard to tell where the water is going. the amite is so far out its banks it kinda changes things. just some perspective.
After some more research I agree with you and I take back what I said earlier.
The area where claycut enters the amite has an elevation on 19.5 feet
The area where bayou manchac enters the amite is 10.5 feet.
Big difference. I was wrong.

Super, ward is along my back yard. What info do you need?
It doesn't look to be back flowing anymore. Has not risen anymore since I last posted either

Pinecrest in St. Amant/Prairieville sister had to leave via boat. They had 6" to go in their house but they were offered a ride out on a boat and left.

its cool. i have learned alot about the elevation changes in br the last few days.
I was talking more about how wide the amite is right now. its not following the low water course. its going where it wants.

TheVig, you are now like the fourth person to say that. So I guess people in low lying areas near Ward should watch for flooding.

Tiger shark I think there are lots of people launching off Oakland in Prairieville. I keep hearing airboats and Helos

Supernovasky,
Can you give some perspective on how much "flooding" we can still expect at Springlake on Bluebonnet?
Residents on main lake have about 2-3 feet before its in the back yard.
Would you expect that much rise at this stage in the game?
Streets are still dry and water still resting near top of storm drains as of now.
I'll ride around and report back soon.
