The houses on highland between "The Lakes" subdivision and bluebonnet had already taken on water. The Bayou Fountain bridge into The Lakes was barely above the water line. This was around 9:30

Good info.

No idea. I'm just guessing this water will leave the area on the back side of the Amite crest, which I guess means it may not reappear anywhere.

So a loan on top of a mortgage. This seems like no a no good news type of situation.

The Great Flood of 2016: Backflow Flooding Occuring (8/14/16)
I have no idea, I'm just a "grunt" reporting field conditions. Def pay attention and best of luck to you

You are incredible. Reading what you wrote, it seems like we were right when we said that it was going to move up to Bluebonnet. That is occurring right now. It should begin to progress quickly and then the beginnings should next appear at Starring. One concern I have is that "upstream" the water doesn't seem to be calming down - what we are hearing out of Santa Maria is very concerning. You remember how you said Highland/Siegen was raising fast? Now it is shut off... and it is raising even faster out at Santa Maria. That's heading your way.

The high water seems to be working back from Siegen and has not reached that far down yet but is def working its way back right now.

30k from FEMA plus low interest mortgage will definitely help at least.

I live on Daniel Guidry too. The water is definitely rising. I can see black bayou now and the ditch behind my house is up significantly compared to a couple of hours ago

Thanks for keeping us updated. This is so much worse than I thought possible.

I feel helpless up here in Pittsburgh and NONE of the national news sources are following this. My family and friends that were in the impacted areas around Shenandoah are safe now although we suspect one lost a house and we know one lost a business in Denham. At least they are all accounted for.

I'm concerned about some old friends that live off Bluebonnet in the Springlake area now as the back flow from Manchac and Bayou Fountain starts to impact far south Baton Rouge.

I'm praying that Spanish Lake and the surrounding swamp can draw down the flood waters enough to keep them dry.

Haydel, I would document the shite out of that. Take video of you trying to get in and all that. Go back and read contract and try to establish contact with owner. Document.

That or get some chains and yank that gate down with truck and grab your shite. Ask for permission later.

Do not construe this as legal advice. I am not licensed or educated in this subject and am not to be held liable for your actions or outcomes hence forth

Back flow at the winndixie on burbank (Bayou Fountain)

What should I do here?

So I went down to my storage unit on burbank which is directly in harms way of the flood waters and the front door is LOCKED. WTF I'm very upset because no one can get to their items to either elevate them or take them out. This place has a pass code so it can be accessed 24/7 but the screen says "area closed" when I put the code in.

That's got to be a violation of something. What if everyone's shite gets flooded and they couldn't get to it because they "closed the area". I'm very upset.

Has the back flow really reached Win Dixie? Is the water level raising? This is very important for us to know, because if the water level is raising there, I am going to start watching the LSU area next.

The Bayou Fountain canal was about 2-4 feet below the parking lot/road at 9:45pm. Water was not moving in either direction.
