I just heard two loud bangs coming from the direction of gardere... I'm in oak hills... they were about 6 seconds apart... don't know if they were transformers or gunshots.... If you are in the area, be safe!!

My face lit up when I saw green where my house is. Couldn't be luckier today.

There is definitely water in the Broadmoor area that runs along Jones Creek (around Sharp from my viewpoint).
Thoughts on water crossing Airline?

Does anyone have any updates on Millerville? Live on the opposite side of the interstate from Target. Had family of family on the target side home flood and they came to my apartment. Once the lake behind us started flooding and all the storm drains started shooting up water, I got the hell out of there and headed to my fathers in Nola. Never thought I'd be escaping flooding by going to New Orleans.

The flood maps are bounded by parish. If you click on the Iberville parish map it shows that the rest of the swamp is also a flood zone. It's actually significantly lower elevation than the EBR portion too. Does that change your opinion?
supernovasky has been amazing through this event and provided valuable information for all of our users in the Sherwood Forest, O'neal Lane, etc. areas. At this point, though, I think he is being too alarmist and extreme backflow will not be happening on the upper areas of Bayou Fountain.
If you are close to Manchac then you would still not be out of the woods, but areas around LSU are safe.

Anyone have a link to the Airline cam where Manchac crosses? It's too dark on the I10 one.

It looks the same

That particular area is full of water. Businesses and everything (at least from north of 12).

There's an actual news event happening in Louisiana but no coverage. Out of town folks with family/friends in town pretty much have to depend on Tigerdroppings....which IMO is more reliable than CNN anyways.
Tigerdroppings.
Better than the rest of the media combined.
Thank you Chicken.
You saved lives today

That's discussing Oak Ridge estates down Elliot Rd.

I've been following this thread all weekend it's the only place I've been able to get consistent information. Weather channel was more concerned about it being 90 degrees at some beach up north all day. Wish that was a joke.

My GF lives in those apartments right off the interstate. Everything is dry on that side (opposite target) until you get to S Harrells Ferry. They are about to ahut off power though

This
Based on your past predictions people are going to be taking what you say very seriously and if what you say makes them try to leave in the middle of the night it could actually be more dangerous for them
Again, I respect what you have done and you have no doubt helped many. But if you are just an average joe and your swamp theory is just all speculation, you should make that more clear

I won't be complaining much anymore, that's for sure. I'll try to repay the favor this week.

Thanks for the heads up. Thankfully my apartment was south of I12 and on the third floor. But the people who evacuated to my placed had a 3 month old and word was they were about to turn off power and water. So I got us out of there. Not even sure how we got out when we did.
